At a loss for words, a man hurting while singing his heart out for years. You truly were your own man Jesse, despite what people are saying after your passing you did walk your own path. Thank you for the healing that came from the hurt that came through your words, you helped me for years with the passion in your voice and feeling like you knew what it was like to walk the bad path. What gets me is his face just as he begins to play. He looks to the distance with his eyes full of pain. His music is filled with pain, and he feels that pain when he gets ready to play.

I can see the pain in his eyes when he sings. You know it’s from the heart. I’ve never felt loss for a stranger but when I learned this musical prodigy had left this world I truly felt like the world lost another great one. His songs gets me through these tough times.

rip jesse. i never met you but i found you here, years ago, in some of my darkest days, and you help me make it through to the better side. i never posted this as i never really felt the need but as time goes the story grows. i am a almost 40 male who never met my dad and that is a whole story in itself, but on the day for your passing jesse, i was handed a little peice of paper with a name and a phone number to the father i never met. i have always had to figure life out for myself and be the best man i can be, trying to be better than the father i never met.

RIP Jesse. The memories we have when you were at our house and all the shows we seen you at will live on forever. We share your music with everyone we know and my husband started playing mandolin because of you and plays your songs for everyone. ❤

The definition of a guy with great talent that had friends that wouldn’t pick up a fuckin instrument and join in. Would’ve been one of the greatest bands ever but instead poor guy just lives on forever (or as long as RU-vid is a thing) in infamy as one of the most passionate songwriters and performers in history. I travel a lot for work, because I fuck up tremendously at times and sometimes for reasons out of my control and this song reaches out to me in a way no song ever had. As a man with a daughter named after the mother he lost when he was 4 and as a soul that never truly found their place I appreciate this much more than words can express. This work and others by you Jesse keep me feeling not sane but a part of the tapestry that’s forced me out my entire life. I’ve listened for years and never found the right words to comment but after 4 IPA’s I found it today. May your soul forever rest with the universe Jesse. Thank you

I picked up the mandolin after my great grandma died and left hers to me. Randomly stumbled upon Jesse on the cold beer video a year or so ago. Never even really had any interesting songs to play my mandolin to until I discovered him. Now I go home and daily play at least one of his songs to unwind after work

Just recently found Jesse and his story. He was a real talent. Saddened to know this young man didn’t get the rewards of his labor. He deserves recognition for sure.

When hes voicing his appreciation to the crowd in the beginning, he gets this look in his eye. Theres real humility there, and a yearning for connection. Ive watched this a few times now and it always chokes me up. Rest easy Jesse.

Tears as i crank another beer, all his music shows his pain, his sadness, and also his emotional trauma. The guy puts it out there for people like us to hear and know we arent always all alone with it.

I heard his "Cold Beer" and I almost cried.. This one also hits "home".. He's very great. Powerful music. Especially if you can relate to what he sings about.
