When he settles his law suits, there needs to be no bargaining. The settlement needs to be public knowledge to discourage the media from engaging in this behavior again. Well, he could have thrown it out earlier, with prejudice, and without the jury. I think the judge was hoping for a not guilty from the jury, so as not to bring it all on himself. Which he may then have had to do anyway, if the jury arrived at the wrong conclusion. Right outcome, but Kyle shouldn't have been put through any of this. Only good thing is for the truth to come out, but it's still being suppressed. It's going to take millions upon millions in settled lawsuits. In Wisconsin there is no such thing as a bail bond...there is only bail. The law states that a person is innocent until proven guilty. So they have to give a bail hearing. The difference is that in say Tennessee, you can get a bond for roughly 10% of the bail amount, but in Wisconsin you have to pay the whole amount. So clearly a guy can come up with 1000 easier than he can come up with 1 million. That's why there was a fundraiser for Kyle's 2 million in bail, because in Wisconsin he had to pay the whole amount...no bonds allowed in Wisconsin.
As to the "black Kyle," not only would he have been found not guilty, there would have been *widespread outrage* over the fact of there having been a trial at all.

Freedom of the press doesn't cover intentional lies. Each agency and the hosts, producers, and everyone else involved needs to be held responsible. And not just civil lawsuits and paying government fines.
