I am a grown man and this song puts tears in my eyes because to me its not just about a relation ship between a man and woman but how I am sure my 14 year old niece feels towards her family and it breaks my heart . We as an uncle and aunt can only do so much to show her she is cared and loved for .

Im 36 now but grew up not being cared about by my mum and step-father and I can tell you 14 year old me would have given anything to have an Aunt and Uncle like you both, if I had had that I might not have gone through some of the traumatic things that I did so young. I understand there is only so much you can do but it means more than you know. For her to just know you guys are there for her is so incredibly important. Thank you for being the loving people that you are, we need more people out there like you ❤️

Almost 10 years ago I was in a 2 year relationship with a narcissist and an abuser. Someone who degraded everything I was and wanted to be. This song truly is what he was. This one really got me. I was recently broken up with after a 4 year relationship and recent engagement after my partner left for another man. This song makes me think about the time I spent really looking back and understanding that the relationship was always one sided, and I remained in it because I craved the validation of my partner despite knowing I was not ever going to get it, and that I was nothing more than a means of provision to them. I found that I could eventually forgive myself for allowing someone to treat me that way, and this song really hit that at the core.
