hmmm...I dunno. I understand people's criticism tho: the original will always be more powerful. But I think Jessica's voice is surprisingly deep which gives this song a husky quality that Mariah's version doesn't have as much. Being a fan of the original, I like this version a lot. I imagine it's hard to sing a song without the original artist's voice in mind, but I think Jessica held her own pretty well with such an iconic song imo ^_^ *shrug*

Just played both versions at the same time and my god they do sound the same surprisingly! Only 16yrs old! I like both versions but I have to always stay true to the original

Even though she is amazing, this was mariah at her very best as far as vocal prowess went, and even jessica sanchez with all her talent sounds rushed because of all those tiny changes that mariah made with her voice. No one else can sing this song now, jot even mariah. It's one of those impossible songs that can only be admired in awestruck wonder.
