Well the song makes more sense with Jessie J singing it since she is not from US. But yea, Miley's voice suited this better because it sounds juvenile. Jessie J's vocals sounds best when it is strong and powerful.
i’m also here for the note modulations. I find it incredibly interesting and she still hits the notes with confidence so idc. It’s a song meant to be sang wrongly. It’s fun ppl should relax.
Jessie J is amazing. I'm a huge fan! However, she tended to go sharp a lot during this performance. It just seemed like she had so much trouble finding the correct key throughout the song.
@@worldkpopavntv5969 yea but that isn’t relevant to this persons comment. He pointed out the fact that she’s having trouble hitting some of the notes by singing them a tiny bit higher than she’s supposed to which of course makes her out of key from the rest of the band
Techimally it's her song so she can sing the song in whatever way she wants. Unless you can sing you are in position to make any comment in her ability to perform. That's fact.
@@notreallyhere it wasn't horrible wtf. It was just slightly lower than average. And fyi, more than half of the people still think Miley wrote it. And.... wrote*
@@damiagunbiade "Unless you can sing you are in position to make any comment in her ability to perform" hahaha. That's funny. People have tastes and will critise movies/music/food/whatever. They don't have to be pros to be able to do that.
Apparently Jessie J initially passed on it because it wasn't "edgy enough" (whatever that means) for her, but I agree that Miley Cyrus handled it better.
After watching her perform it, seems like she should've just stuck to the songwriting side of things. It looked and sounded like a bad first round American idol performance, ouch that hurt my ears
@Cowboy Boy dude Miley can sing. Just because Jessie can pull up some hard ass notes doesn't mean someone else can't sing. Miley sings the song better. It's proven just check for it.
are you crazy jessie j SINGS it perfectly..miley is CRAP! this song suits jessie j..she is fab and talented ..not like miley that shows her but everywhere!JESSIE SINGS MILEY SUCKS!

Thats why I like Jessie J. She never sings same with other singers. She always adds something from herself and sings them in her style. Thats makes her unique
I love Jessie to pieces and her vocals are out of this world. But I must admit I think mileys voice is more suited to this song. Even though Jessie co_wrote it with Claude Kelly. But I'm definitely a huge heartbeat
who says any song writer has to be famous? Jessie has been signed for well over 6 years, and that is what her song Who's Laughing Now is all about. She took her time becoming famous, settling in, and then "boom" she made her appearance. She did write Party in the USA, like I said... you don't have to be "famous" to write a "famous" song...
Correction .... she initially wrote party in the usa but miley already rewrote the lyrics to match her transfer from nashville tennessee to hollywood california...
Yes & now she's not. Now she is underrated. She should have been bigger & got more recognition, & that still apllies. She is underrated I'm compared to many other artists. She's faded into the background since Bang Bang, & this is coming from a massive Jessie I fan. I'm just telling it like it is. Many of the comments on Domino are saying they thought the song was Katy Perry. That's proof. She's been very successful. No one is denying that. Successful artists can be underrated. Another example is Charli XCX. Dawn Richard is underrated af, too. The list goes on. Even Katy Perry's latest music is underrated. Iggy Azalea, too. It's not an insult, it's a compliment. We're just saying they deserve more recognition.
Even Christina Aguilera!!! She's not done so well since Bionic. Her latest Spanish songs are incredible & some songs from her last albums could & should have been really big hits. Cease Fire from Lotus would have been perfect for a film soundtrack.
I think her voice, Kelly Clarkson’s, Katy Perry’s and Pixie Lott’s would be put in the same category. But the personal vocal cord controls and the ways of expression are different, ranges as well.
This song makes so much more sense when Jessie sings it both singers have different tones singing it though so it can't be compared but it makes more sense when Jessie sings it
Correction .... she initially wrote party in the usa but miley already rewrote the lyrics to match her transfer from nashville tennessee to hollywood california...
She went really sharp when the band dropped out... and stayed sharp so much so that she was in a completely different key for almost the entire song (sounds like just a half step higher)... it happens sometimes. Fall out of key and can’t find your way back...she can sing though.
I am assuming that Jessie was singing live, which makes songs sound more raw. Whereas, the recorded versions of songs are more polished, as they're also really auto-tuned. Get Miley to sing this live, I bet it won't sound exactly the same as the recorded version! The same goes for Jessie; get her to record this and it'll sound more polished. Also, there could have been a problem with the earpiece - though, the musicians should have played it to match Jessie's vocals, even on the spot like that.
There are multiple reasons why this didn't sound as "good" as Miley's version. 1) Miley and Jessie J have different musical styles. Though Jessie J co-wrote this with some other people, Miley put her own spin on it. 2) Most, if not all recorded songs sound polished because they are fine-tuned (auto-tune) to make the song sound better 3) Jessie J was probably singing this live, therefore her vocals won't sound "as good" or as polished as a recorded track. Ask Jessie J to record this and, after it goes through the recording process, will sound more polished. Likewise, get Miley to sing live, and it will probably sound better too. Those who sound exactly like they do on the CD when singing in concert are probably singing to a backing track (see Britney Spears). 4) Her band should have realised that her voice wasn't suiting the key of the instruments, for whatever reason, and played along with her, reducing the key 5) Her earpiece probably wasn't working properly, and, therefore, she didn't have a reference point.
