I wrote The Wicked Shall Cease Their Troubling. The chorus was written in 1969. My father and I were on a flight from New York to Antwerp. The song was written in Flemish. The plane was full of members of the Belgian mafia. They're were upset by the song but my father said he admired my creativity and he wasn't going to make me shut up. The verses were written starting in 1992 when I was diagnosed with both Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphoma at the same time. I wrote a verse the next year after a friend prayed for me and I got healed in answer to prayer.

I wrote The Day You Set Me Free. The song was written in Flemish and translated by my mother. The chorus was written when I was in Angola in 1968. The rest of the song was written in December of 1970. After Ryan Dobson was born my mother took me and headed home toward Michigan. When we were going through Baton Rouge we got into a serious accident with a semi truck and my mother was almost killed. I was grateful God kept me safe but it was a severe trauma which caused me to lapse into my native tongue of Flemish until my father arrived the next morning.
