I went on 2 separate field trips here when I was going to Binictican elementary school between 76'-78'. Was very informative about what to expect in the jungle. My family is Cajun, and as such my mom let me play in the jungle, even though it was dangerous (swamps aren't any safer than jungles). I used the knowledge I learned from JEST to try out new wilds foods, and what to stay clear of. My time in the Philippines are some of my best childhood memories because of the jungle.
I actually took the 10 day course while in the Navy in the jungles of Subic (1972) prior to going to Viet Nam. Looks thoroughly like a tourist spot now.
