Jesus bids an emotional goodbye to John - The Chosen 

Well maybe in this life anyway. But I get what you're saying. We all know that John was the one prophesied to appear right before the Messiah does. But I guess in Jesus's perspective, him having to die wasn't originally part of the plan. That part was entirely John's decision. Which is why Jesus is entirely not okay with this.

@@alliasstar7289 How could Jesus not be okay with The Father's Will. John was already in plan to enter Heaven as a martyr. He did God's Will, so how was Jesus not okay with it? If that were the case,, then Jesus who is God in the flesh made a mistake, in which I know He didn't.

So I guess by your logic, Jesus was totally cool that plan when it came down to it right? And anyone who knows this story knows that he most certainly wasn't. Jesus did the will of his father, that doesn't mean he was always happy with it. "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even unto death" What exactly does that quote mean to you anyway?

Jesus said that we would do even greater things than he has in his ministry, but only through him. It should be that easy to cast out. Theres a reason priests struggle to do so. Because they dont follow what God actually says. In some ways yes, but ultimately they do not. Its also a reason why Matthew 17:21 has been taken out of many bibles with that verse telling us how to cast out powerful demons with him saying "howbeit this kind only go out by prayer and FASTING" meaning only demons of that power can not be casted out by anyone unless they pray and fast regularly. Its been taken out to be forgotten for a reason. To dissensitize us to think fasting isnt important. We live in a world run by satan and demons. If the veil were taken off our eyes completely we would see nothing but wickedness everywhere and the world looking like hell will.

I just hope he stays humble about it. I genuinely like Jonathan and something tells me he's a good man in real life It would be sad if the fact that he's succeeding so much as Jesus makes him forget who he is

True.... Jesus not only went through physical pain, he also went through emotional pain by seeing his near and dear ones die before him and we never talk about that.

Matthew 14. When John the Baptist got to to town he was soon arrested and jailed. As John sat in jail, Herod held a feast in which he offered to do anything his daughter-in-law asked. She asked for the head of John the Baptist, and true to his oath he ordered that he be beheaded. In this scene, it shows that Jesus knew what lay ahead for John the Baptist.

This meeting of Jesus and John the Baptist is not recorded in the scriptures. It is part of the series. It is ok to have some dramatic license when telling a story. They are not writing a new Bible just making a TV series.

They were almost the exact same age, likely less than 6 month apart. The Bible says that, as soon as the angel Gabriel had come and delivered the news that Mary was going to be pregnant with Jesus, she ran to visit her cousin Elizabeth, who was already pregnant. We pick up the story in Luke 1:38-44:

Jesus was likely born after John, but the big difference is that John was indeed created by God. Jesus, however, was not created. He is God, and has always existed. Jesus is begotten of the Father, not made. His incarnation and birth was not His beginning, as He claims pre-existence. From everlasting to everlasting, He is God. John, like us, is a creature. God is Creator.

That's not something to think about. Jesus was never created. He's the creator himself. He's literally God. He is God in the flesh. John was and is one of us. He wasn't divine like Jesus is. John is a human being, who was conceived sexually and born on this earth naturally. He didn't come from Heaven as Jesus did. But according to Jesus, John was the greatest man who ever lived.
