Who wouldn't want to get well, but think about it:
This man was unable to walk for 38 years, the life expectancy in the first century for most people was only 40 years old. So this man had lived his whole life, unable to walk. This man had probably lost hope.
What is hope? Hope is the belief that your future is going to be different and better than your past.
This man was hopeless. He thought nothing was going to change for me it's been 38 years now. I'm an old man. So he's pretty hopeless. "Sir, I've got no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I'm trying to get in somebody else gets down before me..." He doesn't offer an answer. He offers an excuse. Yeshua didn't say, "How come you're not well?" He says "Do you want to be made well?"
As we know, Hope deferred makes the heart sick. But when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. Hope fulfilled, leads to life. And Yeshua is the ultimate Hope Dealer. He loves to give hope to the hopeless.
The good news is that there's hope, hope for you, hope for your family, hope for your friends. It doesn't matter how long you've been dealing with certain pain or problems. There's always hope.
Of course, there's more. So let's take a deeper look at what is going on here.

I keep hearing about John chapter 5 lately. I’ve been sick for almost 3 years with a chronic illness dysautonomia. I’ve prayed and had others pray over me. I believe it’s a sign that the lord will heal me soon!!!

Thank you for this teaching Rabbi. For many years I have lived issiah 49:15. But now I feel the Lord has given me new scripture for my life: Jeremiah 31:20. It is as you say “when someone lives with pain all their lives-physical or mental-they cannot see passed that pain. I, thankfully, have not experienced this pain to the degree many others have and for that I have spent a lifetime in denial. “I wasn’t treated as bad as some people so why am I complaining?” But this type of thinking is dangerous and leads to unbelief and even more pain. And since people tend to gravitate towards a mate like their parents it can lead to even greater damage!

Shalom brother. I love your teaching. I believe Yehoshua is the truth and righteousness of Avinu and that is why Yehovah spoke creation through His Word and for Him, which,like in the garden when we questioned His Word ,doubted , became proud , thinking we could rule and decide,we lost His Ruach Hakodesh , the breath of life and became spiritually dead. And this is the great compassion and love of Avinu , that He clothed His Word in human flesh to show us the way to follow Him, and be the complete sacrificial offering for our unrighteousness , so through Him and united to Him we can return to Avinu. We don't work on shabat because it seeks for self and is gain for the world which has destroyed so much of God's creation,we rest in Him in His selfless love,bringing healing to what is broken and damaged by our stubborn heartedness which has refused to listen and done more harm.

I have contemplated becoming a Messainic Jew( we have Jewish ancestors) and the more I hear the more I feel this is the most complete understanding of scripture I have heard and I have studied alot! We shouldn't cause arguments, rather just accept God did His works , and if He speaks about appointed times , then we need to know them, but argue , no. Elohim looks at our hearts to see the genuineness of our trust in being led by Him, not if we've made a mistake by trying to do so. If we seek His truth , He reveals Him to us

The taste of the manna indeed how it was connected! The unfathomable Goodness of Yeshua, after the rain and someone picking up the manna on the field ground paced it in a receptacle❤😊I am astonished and rejoiced. ❤It must have been unexplainable being came from slavery, but I tasted It❤50? Will catch up😊and start investing!

They had been enslaved for 400yrs thats why its too hard for them to believe that they deserve all the blessings & healings. Unbelieve is the worst sickness of all. We Filipinos were also enslaved by the Spaniards for 500yrs I guess that's why it makes most of us working class not business owners. But , by the grace of God we will be healed by being unbelievers. God is good! Praise you Jesus.
