Matthew 13:50 : Jesus will throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ? Not to be funny, but intererested to know how you understand "friend". I am actually a believer. making sure I understand

@@mangs9940There is judgment for all but in accepting Christ you have Christ’s sacrifice to cover for you. Some won’t have that because they chose not to accept him.

@@scotthinzman7698 Thanks. Curious then how do you understand . 2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ. How can you choose if you are blind?

@@mangs9940 I’m not a Biblical scholar but quote mining a specific verse without the context of the surrounding verses and entire book is a bad idea. 2nd Corinthians is a theologically deep book. But, I believe if you look at that verse those “blinded” are already unbelievers. And the act of unbelief blinds us to the truth. So, the blinding comes from unbelief as much as the other way around. However, a complete study of the text is warranted to have a more complete understanding.

@@scotthinzman7698 Not disagreeing with you on taking verses out of context or that we are all still called to make a decision. But I dont think you can ignore ( complexity) , that God has to open someones eyes to see the truth. Acts 26:18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ 2 Timothy 2:25 : "Perhaps"... God will give them repentance, that they may acknowledge the truth, DO i just ignore these verses, because I am not a scholar?

A little over a year ago I began to ask for something in prayer. The other day I realized I now have that thing in my life. This was not a small thing, and I received it without realizing it was answer to prayer. It was so organic. I know how this sounds, but I think you may actually be right.

Sorry I find it interesting that the TGP gives just a "love" for just this comment. Not dimissing Gods providence and that we should akknolege it. But we actually do not know what was provided through prayer. God apparently "rains on the just and unjust " Matthew 5:45. not aksing for a "like" but an explanation would be nice.

I was once dicussing my concern at future judgement with a visiting Pastor. He angrily ignored me in favour of encorouging someone to write a book on using Christian principles in business???

Not to be controversial. I think this depiction is not that helpful to me. I have been asking many pastors about the general tone of the gospel with no real answes. If Jesus is the final judge, his verdict on me as I understand it. Is that I am lost and a sinner and face his judgement. Yes he offers forgiveness and salvation as gift. but the cost is a life of repentance and suffering. it's not supposed to be a miserable life. But I think it's wrong and confusing to even suggest that life as a Christian will be less trouble free. Yes we are promised that we will be looked after so we don't need to be anxious about food,clothing and shelter. But even with that promise , we could still face nakedness,hunger , sickness and catastrophe. The bible says only a few will be saved. Let that sink in. That is intense!

Salvation is indeed a gift, but the cost is the sacrifice of Christ (his physical coming on earth, his life without sin, his death and his resurrection) It’s his story and not yours. It’s all about him and not you, the pressure is on him and not you so you can relax in his grace (which is meant to be unmerited/ undeserved) his love is eternal.
@mangs9940
@mangs9940 23 дня назад
@@georgesamoakojr.2447 thanks " so you can RELAX " also does not really make sense.Luke 13:24 : “STRIVE to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."..... also 1 Corinthians 6:9....."do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. " Obviously we cannot save ourselves, but "relax" does not seem to fit the requirement for repentance. I hope this makes sense. Even if we are supposidly the "elect" or "chosen " to believe. Which again opens another door....

I can't disagree with anything you said. And it is intense. We live for a promise unseen. But I think this man is right. The Lord will be our friend if we can let him.

You have a basic misunderstanding of the Gospel. The cost is not a life of repentance and suffering. The cost was Christ’s life. What we get in return is the assurance salvation and an eternity with God. What we get is an eternity full of joy and free of sin and guilt and fear. And here on earth we get a life free from condemnation, free from the burden of sin, a life of hope and rejoicing for what Christ has done for us and what is to come. It doesn’t make everything perfect here for we live in a world broken by sin but it completely changes the paradigm of our lives.
@mangs9940
@mangs9940 23 дня назад
@@scotthinzman7698 thanks. again maybe I am just not bright. you: "here on earth we get a life free from condemnation, free from the burden of sin" this does not make sense , in the light that Jesus says repent and believe mark1 :15 . Also Paul in the new testiment is contunally warning new gentile believers to change behaviour , not just believe? ... why correct behaviour when in the end it wont make a difference? I think the sadusees believed what you did in the body, did not matter.
