I tried one of these the other day and thought it would be rubbish for the £130 quid price at my local guitar shop but it played and sounded better than the Telecaster Affinity model I put it up against , amazing for the price and i think its best to buy Jet guitars now as they are a new brand with a point to prove , what I have noticed is when Brands get established like Fender or Gibson after a few years the quality goes down the drain. So best buy the Jet Guitars now.
I have this guitar and recommend it but I wouldn't get one if you're looking for a platform for mods. The basswood body is too soft and everytime you remove screws they get looser, I changed the bridge on mine and it moved under string tension. That is where they've cheapened out.
you should try out the latitude lark. its right around the same price with satin finish, roasted maple, jumbo stainless steel ball end frets, bone nut, dual easy access trustrod, and it shipped ready to play. It easily plays and sounds like guitars in the 1000 range and its better than my Harley benton strat copy for sure. i have heard though that every now and then u might get a dud with these affordable guitar makers but im starting to think it might just be people talking crap
@@IconUKMusicMerchAndMore These Jets are beautiful guitars for this price point. Mine arrived and is just great. Roasted maple neck almost looks like solid rosewood! It partners my 70's custom Tele perfectly. ☺
HI Tom. Enjoyed your demo :) I'm just about to pull the trigger on one of these babies as a modding platform. One question .... have you opened it up to see whether the body is routed for a neck humbucker? Many thanks :)
Not my playing buddy, can't take credit. That's my top-boi ru-vid.com, one of our resident tutors, good friend of mine. I'm a the drummer in our various bands, so I'm afraid it's not something we've done I'm afraid!
@@IconUKMusicMerchAndMore LOL, yeah I realised that it was Will just after posting my comment (senior moment). FYI I just found out from another RU-vidr that both pickup pockets are routed for a humbucker so plenty of missing options :)
I'm about to buy a jet guitar, but I haven't decided if it will be a Telecaster or a Stratocaster. Would you say this model does justice to the Tele sound?
Yes I would. It sounds great. The pickups are fine not high output. I would update things with time but you will be surprised how good the neck is. The neck is better than most models you will find in the 500 dollar range.
