This stage tends to be one of the harder ones when you're starting out. This time you have Onishima and even the Swat team to worry about. It doesn't stop there...
Stage: Love Trap
Time: 800 seconds (13 minutes, 20 seconds)
Tags: 5 Small + 6 Green, 4 Large, 4 X-Large
Score: 45,000 or 50,000 points to Jet!
Swat Team Trigger: 5 Red Tags.
The main issue with this stage is that Onishima is patrolling around the bridges in the Park Street area. Tag him to keep him still for quite some time. Meanwhile, you really want to take care of the wall tags at the back of the stage first to make you life easier.
The Swat Team shoots tear gas and the shots can dispense randomly around you, making it tough to dodge. Getting hit by it slows you down while causing damage so be careful.
This stage has 7 Graffiti Souls to pick up, and they are all in tough spots. I also just noticed that there are some tags available that are marked off as "B" in the Garage. Maybe bonus? I may have to investigate this...

I'm running around trying to find combo spots and all I needed to do was get all the green arrows and complete it in a timely manner. Thank you for the video.

I don't see why they would hate these kids. Overall, I believe many spray paint graffiti can be very artistic. If I wanted these kids to stop, I wouldn't resort to violence, and would rather help them find a way go channel their art.

I don't know much about Japanese police, but based on American police rules, their reaction is massively exaggerated but not entirely unrealistic. If they see a kid spraying graffiti, they aren't going to sit there and kindly tell them to go to art school, they're going to try to arrest them.

Thank you so much for the video, I was missing 2 graffiti spots, and I didn't even know you could go out to the place at 2:15... On the map there looked to be 2 graffiti spots on the broken highway bit where you spray the 2 large ones. I kept trying to find a secret where the one Graffiti soul was.

I’m new to the first Jet Set Radio since I’ve been playing JSRF most of the time. The first one is kind of hard because of the certain input patterns for spraying graffiti and the time limit where you have 700 seconds (12 minutes) to complete the mission.

I know right? That's the only problem with that spot. You have to lookout for the tall vehicles or you will hit them. That, or land on top and break your chain. But otherwise, not a bad area to boost up your points.

how did you change the score multiplier to 6 on 1:52? Do you need to press or rotate something for this? I do not understand, although I tried all the buttons...

It's simple. When you are grinding, push the left stick up, then down. then up and as soon as you push the stick up, press A if you are on Xbox, or X if on PS3 or PS Vita. On PC, if you are using a controller, use the button that makes your character jump. If keyboard and mouse, it's W, then S, then W and space/left mouse.

Do you have to collect the graffiti souls to get jet ranking or something? I swear I'm doing the exact same thing and my score is only 40k at best. I already collected the graffiti souls in previous playthroughs.

Grafitti Souls have no bearing on your score. You only need to hit a point threshold and you will earn the Jet rank.

How do you cancel graffiti? I always thought you couldn't.

Press the 'Tag' button to enter or exit Large and Extra Large tags. You will break the tagging chain score bonus you get for following the strokes consecutively by doing this, however, but it's useful if a threat is approaching you and you'd like to avoid damage. This happens automatically if you run out of Spray Cans.

Thanks. I have the game (as you can probably by my question) & I'm trying to get better to get more characters & maybe even have bragging rights among my brothers.
