In the last video, we covered our crossing over to Bimini, Bahamas on our jet skis. We were there for a whole week and had lots of fun. This is the first video of some of the exploring and the fun that we had while we were there. We checked out the Sapona, Honeymoon Harbor and also got a chance to talk with the man that put the plan all together!

Ultra 300lx would eat that chop a lot better. I love the aggressive look of your yammie though. My friend has 2021 gp1800 they are sweet(fast). Kawi works well for me though.

Those Kawis are nice heavy machines which work well in rough water. I have a friend that just bought one and it's a beauty too!

Awesome video looks like it was alot of fun. 👍 I've yet to witness in any video the process of anyone getting on and off the ski with the pwc racks on especially the 3 row one. Especially in deeper water. Is it fairly easy or are you prone to falling off easier will trying to get on even with extra passenger(s) on board

Actually, if you watch my first Bimini video, that's just what I had to do. My ski took some sea grass into the intake and it got clogged a bit. I had to get in the water to get it out. My rack was on the back of the ski for that trip and I had to climb back on the ski with the rack in place. It did make it a bit more difficult but I was able to do it. Thanks for watching.

Another great video Captain Frank. I am checking into doing this next year with the group. I have to come from Iowa but my buddy and I have made the pact we will do something like this on our WaveRunners. My only gripe is I am a Yamaha guy. Waverunner, WaveRunners, Waverunner, WaveRunners...

This would be a great trip to come from Iowa for. We had a couple of guys come from Delaware this year and they definitely are glad to have made the trip. I get it on the jet ski vs Waverunner thing. I'm a Yamaha guy too. I guess I am just trying to be generic and that seems to be the term most folks use. Even though technically a Jet Ski is a Kawasaki. Why does life have to be so confusing? 🤣🤣

Awesome video Frank! As a diver I loved the underwater scenes. I use a GoPro when I dive and I have also used my GoPro when I boat around Lake Erie. I find if you treat the GoPro housing with a little Rain-X the water will bead off and not interfere with the video.

I tried the RainX window cleaner and as you can see, I still had some water on the lens. I think i'll try the straight RainX next time.

You will definitely love it. There was a little store down the road from Bimini Sands that rented golf carts. We learned about it from pne of the guys at the resort. Good luck!

Amazing video. You left me wanting more! I wanted to see where you docked your ski every night to keep it from getting beat up. I have a 22 FX SVHO Limited and don't let anything ever touch the ski except the trailer. By the way I love the build-in mapping with the Navionics maps. How was the island in general? Did you ride all day for the whole week? Thanks Captain Frank.

We stayed at Bimini Cove. They have floating docks so it was good for the skis. We rode most days but did have a day or two for just land activities. South Bimini was the more rural of the two islands. North Bimini had a lot more going on.

Great video. Question. How to people navigate to find it. When you cant see the land how do you know where to go. Sorry for dumb question.

Not a dumb question at all. We all had some form of gps on our skis. In some of the footage you can see the GPS chartplotter that I have installed on my ski. It's a must if you want to make the crossing.

Great content, glad y’all made it over safely. I’m regards to no fuel on North & South Bimini was it any particular reason they ran out? Maybe the time of year & a large group of boaters? Thanks again for sharing! Billy D

We crossed over right after a tropical storm had gone through. According to someone on the island, the fuel ship was late due to that storm. I also heard comments that this is a common occurrence even when there are no storms so it may just be a logistical problem in managing the shipments. Thanks for watching!

@@TheShipsLogg Okay, thanks. When did you guys make the crossing? I know a friend of mines that made the crossing back in 2015 I believe it was, year after we did it for our first time. He told me they showed up and had to wait days for fuel. Something in regards to one of the biggest fishing tournaments had just drained the island completely of fuel. That was sometime I believe in July for him. Thanks again, Billy D

There is one on South Bimini that is very limited in their stock. North Bimini has a larger one but still not what you are used to here in the states. If you can take anything with you, I would advise it.

Another question asi watch this video again. Why were so many of the PWCs loaded up with extra gas & gear for this day trip?

Most of us had our racks and gas cans mounted for the crossing between Ft. Lauderdale and Bimini. It was just more convenient to leave them on the whole time we were there rather than taking them off and having to put them back on before crossing back to the US. It did also made it convenient for carrying coolers and such so we would still have cold drinks and snacks.

I do have an aluminum PWC rack. I got it for the Bimini crossing because I knew there was a chance we could run into some serious weather. The funny thing is that there were two riders who did the Bimini trip with me that had seen my video on the do it yourself rack. They used the do-it-yourself rack for the trip and it did wonderfully for them! Guess I didn't need to get the aluminum rack after all. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I would recommend getting the best most solid rack you can. Home made racks are OK for fair weather, but I seen many come apart in past Bimini trips when the weather turns ugly and surf picks up. If long range trips become your thing, a rack becomes mission essential and you won't regret buying a good one! Trust me it'll be a lot cheaper than broken PVC floating away and loosing all your cargo and some didn't even notice until they got to Bimini. Salud! Cheers!
