Hey Ya'll. Welcome back to our channel. On Today's adventure we take our 2021 Sea-Doo GTI SE 170 and 2017 Sea-Doo GTI SE 130 out on Lake George in Ocala, FL Have you been here before?
Great video - I did a similar run last saturday from Ed Stone Park up the St. John's to Lake George and got near Silver Glen Springs. I got a bit disoriented and missed Silver Glen and have to go back. But I have the same ski as Lewis. I have found the low fuel warning comes on very early, and the gauge displays very low, it has 1/3 of a tank left at first warning. You were just fine on gas. I did 55 miles total, much 45 mph+ with some no wake zones. I calculate, based on experience, the 170 Seadoo can comfortably go 70 miles on a full tank with a mix of full throttle and slower speeds - normal mode. I would get nervous after 75 miles. Maybe some have seen the guy traveling the great loop of the Mississippi river to the gulf, around Florida and up the east coast and home. I think he is on a 170 fish pro and getting 6-7 MPG. You will see when you fill up - and probably only can put 12 or so gallons back in a ski you thought was nearly empty.
Thanks for the info. I do suspect it has about 1/3 of a tank as you described. I've yet to fill it up to see, but last time I had the gas light on it think it took like 10 gal. So that would mean there was 6 gal left in it. This ride was only about 47 miles. I'm thinking of doing a run down the coast and back until I run completely out just to know where the limit is. Sounds like an expensive test though. Yes, I've been watching the SeaDoo looper too. I think he said he got 6-7 mpg while traveling with the current down the Mississippi river at about 30 mph. I have such a hard time keeping it under 40 mph. Lol😜
Just curious if you have seen the 2023 sea doo line up yet. They came out with a new model called the Explorer pro 170 that has a windscreen. It’s funny looking and reminded me of a snowmobile. Great video as usual. 👍👍
Absolutely. Love the new stuff. The explorer is pretty cool. I'm a fan of the added storage, and the bumper could come in handy for mounting cameras. The windshield looks a little goofy, but I can see where it may be useful in colder areas or in the rain. I love the look of the apex, although it is a bit overpriced. If I were to get a new ski, I'd love to get a GTX 300 limited or a RXTX 300. Although I do love the practicality of the 170 NA and the 40gal of storage on my GTI. Christine has trouble reaching the storage, so the GTX would be better for her, but only has 25gal storage.
Great video, just started following your page among the many others that I follow. Since you made it up this far have you ever tried the Winter Park Chain of Lakes in the Orlando area? If you put in your RU-vid search jet skiing Winter Park Chain of Lakes a video I did with some other people will show up

Alligators are the main reason why we typically stick to saltwater. Although we make an exception for lake George because of the beautiful spring heads. We did do the Lakeland chain of lakes one time, but I think ultimately we enjoy places where we can stop and take a break and do some swimming.
@@professionalweekenders do you follow Bob Broeking as well? I grew up on those Lakes, they don't scare me at all. I would be more scared of sharks to tell you the truth. Supposedly unless they are fed alligators are supposed to be more scared of you, I don't think sharks have that same attitude
@@ericburch6847 I've seen a few of his videos. We cover some of the same content. 😃 True, when jet skiing in Florida you have to pick which one scares you least sharks or alligators. For us, we definitely feel we'll take our chances with the sharks. I want no part of that alligator death roll, where they latch onto your limb, twist and rip it from your body. Sharks tend to bite, realize their mistake and run.
I'm honestly not sure, but I don't see why not. If they do have a rule about that in the spring, lake George is the second largest lake in the state of Florida, and I'm sure there's no problem saying out in the lake overnight.
