Thanks to genesismuseum.com for this silent film transfer from Tull's 'Heavy Horses' Fall Tour 1978. Exact date unknown but thought to be around the Montreal 13 Oct 1978 show but that audio didn't quite match, so after several tries from gigs around these dates I found that the audio from Toronto 78, Maple Leaf Gardens is the closest match. It could possibly be Toronto. Either way, enjoy these clips. Audio borrowed from YT member jethrotull • Jethro Tull Live Audio... Audio sync by Tulltapes

Another great job Erin. Love the unique perspective of the camera angle in this. Your synching job is amazing as always.

Wow that's excellent! @Tulltapes, is this pro-shot? Many camera angles, little camera shaking...

Great job! (btw - I'm going to pretend that it was Montreal, so I can say "I was there!" lol>)

2:41 - much as I loved these early concerts and never missed any local appearance by Jethro Tull, this always mystified me ( not really shown here in full length ) was Ian's flute ramblings that seemed to go nowhere and go on for hours huffing and puffing and playing scales or just one note. Years later he admitted he did not know how to play the flute, so he used to have little things he could play like Yankee Doodle Dandy, or Camptown Races, or Hickory Dickory Dock ... and then go off into blasting these notes and trills and turning on and off the effects pedals ... then Martin would do pretty close to the same thing with guitar, hitting on note a bunch of times ... but the one good thing was that it did make me appreciate the fucking drum solos which were great ( 3:42 ) ! But the payoff was when the whole band would play some as yet unknown instrumental jam that was always really cool. But the tickets too were like $7.35 for the first JT concert I saw! LOL. That was great. And usually two bands with them. Thanks for the nostalgic memories TT.
