Excellent video Harry, as usual you really answered all the important questions that are not super clear in the manual. One thing that might be obvious to most but I think is important to note, when you plug your R900 directly into the CB2x0, if you lose both 2.4 signals and the system switches to 900 mhm backup you will not have a gyro stabilized signal, but a not gyro stabilized signal is way better than no signal at all! Thanks for taking the time to share your expertise, much appreciated!

Hi Harry. I followed your steps to the letter (I think) to setup two R3/RSW receivers in dual path to a central box 220. Problem is when disconnecting either of them to test the dual path, the servos work as expected with only one receiver, but I lose antenna/ signal telemetry for BOTH receivers; different behavior from the video where you lose telemetry ONLY of the disabled receiver. Only difference from the video setup is that since these receivers have a EX BUS pin, I set the serial link to EX BUS and did not reconfigured an output pin to EX BUS like in the video. Also, FWIW, in the device explorer menu the central box is shown as “CBOX220 [1]”, whereas in the videos it is shown as “CBOX220 [2]”. Do you have an idea of why I lose telemetry on both receivers when I disable only one of them? As always, very grateful of your instruction videos. Best regards

It's one of your settings in the wireless transmission menu. Set it to Alarm at: loss of both receivers

Hi Harry. I followed your direction. One issue. After I completed the setup, my CB220 is X'd out of the device menu and my system is running on 900. My 1st and 2nd Rx are not recognized. What do you think I did wrong? Thanks

Hi Harry. I recently got the Cortex pro gyro set up by watching your video. I would also like to add the 900NG back up to it as well. Where would the 900 back up plug into and do I need to change any settings in the central box or the gyro?
@cotswoldpilot

I would add the 900 as a backup into the secondary 2.4 Rx

Is the set up the same with my new DS-24, CB220 with the 3 R3/RSW and R3/REX 900MHz backup. Any chance of a video with the new DS-24? Thx Harry great videos!

I am wanting to use the Cortex Pro with a Rex 12, a 900 mhz backup, and a Central Box 200. My question is, should I run the 900mhz through the Cortex or bypass and plug into the 2nd rx slot in my Central Box? This is being used in a Rebel Pro turbine powered jet.
@cotswoldpilot
@cotswoldpilot 4 месяца назад
Do not connect the 900 directly into the Cortex. From the 900 run one connection to the Rex12 to back it up and keep stabilisation if the 900 takes over, and run another connection from the 900 to Rx2 on the CB as backup in case of cable failure or failure of the Rex12 or Cortex. CB switchover strategy must be 80 or 150ms, NOT "mixing"

Harry can the Cortex Probe set up with a Jeti DS-24 to do the "Crow function" like it is done on the Flex Innovation Mamba biplane? In the Mamba application the Aura gyro system will produce a airbrake effect by raising the upper wing ailerons and lowering the bottom wing ailerons.
@cotswoldpilot
@cotswoldpilot 3 года назад
I no longer have a Cortex Pro to test it but I would be surprised if it did not work with this. You program crow from the transmitter, not in the Cortex. What might happen is a big reduction in aileron gain as it thinks you have moved the stick, unless its software has been programmed by B D to recognise that both moving the same way should not reduce the gain

Harry, great video!! I fly both an Assist and the Pro, in different planes of course. And you are totally right, not flying a gyro ( option) makes NO since. I fly the CB400 with a DC24 in all my scale planes. How do I communicate with you if I need to ask a question?

Hi Harry. Great video as usual. When setting up as in the video and I then test the primary and secondary rx individually, I lose antenna telemetry for both receivers if primary or secondary is removed. It provides rx antenna telemetry when both are plugged in. Is this what you were talking about at the beginning of the video. My servo works as expected in above scenarios
@cotswoldpilot
@cotswoldpilot 3 года назад
That is an error in the transmitter double path settings, it is not related to the cortex pro. In the wireless menu page where you select default/double path, set the "alarm at" to "loss of both receivers"

Will the Cortex Pro show up in device explore if your using Sbus protocol with a multifunction box like the HSD 2085?

Afaik, only Exbus devices show in device explorer
@65Slipkid

No, it doesn't show up using SBus with the 2085. I ended up using Exbus to the Cortex Pro, then individual leads from the Cortex Pro to the 2085 on my Composite Super Viper.

Hello Harry, thank you! When I get to the learning phase, i get to end, but it will not recognize my knob for the last step. I never get the flashing lights. the PRO stays with lights off. what am I doing wrong? I am using DC 24 with CB 400 ad 2 R3 Rx.

@@cotswoldpilot Yes. thank you. I assigned it just like you did. I am using DC 24, and the right knob is P7. I also assigned the gyro on off switch as you demonstrate in this video.

@@cotswoldpilot just checked it. Yes, i saw in three different areas, as I turned the knob, it was moving. under receiver outputs, it was 50% each way. then when I went back to gyro program in fine turning, i noted that each way on the left, was 50% and that one the right, it was set at ZERO for sensitivity. SO i redid the whole deal, of retraining, with both columns, each way, set at 100%, still nothing. DO i have to remove the bind plug all over again, and let it find system 1st then retrain?
@porsche1971
@porsche1971 3 года назад
I set up the gyro on a knob the knob is P7 if the knob is in the center, it is off if the knob is turned to the right (clockwise), then it is rate mode if the knob is turned counterclockwise, then it is hold mode It seems to me that the cortex pro already has a preset gyro gain programmed into it? SO if I turn the knob all the way clockwise, is the gain 100% or is it at the max of the preset value? Which is low to begin with?

@@cotswoldpilot thank you. I will do it. Just as an update to you, you have helped me so much!! I did the maiden on my CARF P51 this Sunday and it went great! I put 3 flights in and without a doubt, the gyro helped me significantly with take offs and landing. Thanks again!
@cotswoldpilot
@cotswoldpilot 3 года назад
@@porsche1971 It is normal for a gyro to be at gain = 0% if the servo output is at 0%. Turning the value towards -ve will send the gyro into one of its modes, turning the value +ve sends the gyro into its other mode. By default the manufacturer of the gyro sets one mode as rate and the other mode as heading hold. The Cortex Pro lets you change the settings to whatever you want each mode to be. Most people for most models only need one mode, in rate.
