LOL 0:42 -"for what reason?" -"we dare you"... -"ok" 😂😂😂😂😂 American 6511... Did you give her 20 buck before or after take off??? You are so funny dude!!
To be honest, you wouldn't even have to dare Ryanair to land there. They'd probably land there by accident anyways thinking it's Stansted or something.
I’m a pilot and I actually once landed here In a Aviation M2 (Private Jet) and it’s wasn’t bad at all. It was stressful. But once you get lower you know you can land
While it may be possible to land medium jets at Lukla, (if the sim is accurate with all conditions), it is definately not a sane thing to do, to be honest it is actually insane to do in the first place, so from me as a pilot I say hats off and the deepest respect for these pilots that actually fly these approaches and departures, must be some beautiful views from the cockpit too, fly safe.
What I’ve learnt from this video: Brit’s will do anything for tea Ryanair flies to Nepal An MD80 was just randomly over Himalayan airspace Lukla’s ATC Controllers are stupid You can land a 747 at luk- wait, what?
Atc 1: wanna try a b52? Atc 2: the wing span is longer than the runway bob. Atc 1: fort Lauderdale can we borrow a b52? Fl: but, you're on a different continent. Atc 1: I'll give you a barrel of oil. Fl: expect us in 1 hour.
To be honest, the 747 technically would have been damaged as its wings were hitting the buildings and trees. The 787 overran the runway on takeoff as well.
In the simulator is easy! In real life there are other details to consider, for starters, the maximum wingspan the aircraft can have to avoid flapping its wings on side constructions. Then if the runway floor supports the weight of the aircraft. Third, if the airport yard holds such an aircraft. Fourth and not least, if the short length of the runway coupled with its high altitude is capable of safe landing and takeoff of the aircraft. Also, even if it can meet all the criteria, whether it can achieve proper post-takeoff climb performance to avoid the mountains surrounding the aerodrome. In this case, jet planes in Lukla, if one day happens, I believe it will be a small executive plane of up to eight seats, like the Embraer Phenom 100, the Cirrus Vision Jet or maybe a Honda Jet. Bigger than that, I don't see the slightest possibility.
Air traffic controller #1: *Turns on radio* "Brittish Airways 4325, Lukla Tower" "Lukla Tower, British Airways 4325, Roger." "British Airways 4325, we'd like you to come to Lukla" "And why should we do that?" "We have tea." Say no more *Diverts course" *Lands at Lukla still going 150 down the runway" Crashes the damn plane Pilot gets out fine like wheres me fecking tea
