@@JFK-ir7yz I'd love to hear from all the fans that thought Zack played well last season, what they think of Rodgers' start. Took us 11 games last season to get as many offensive TD's as we already have lol
I am an Aaron Rodgers fan. I grew up in California, I use to go to Cal games and watch Rodgers in college. Then I was a packer fan for 19 years hah. Now I'm a jet fan. I can tell Mike is quietly pleased after tonight, I can only imagine the pain the Jet fanbase has been through for so long, you guys deserve it. Glad Aaron is moving like 35 year old Aaron. That was such a huge outcome of this game. You can see how much confidence he is getting in himself and his offensive line. It's only going to get better. ENJOY the ride jets fans.
Last night's game seemed like a mirage since I'm not accustomed to being in the driver's seat, particularly with the New York Jets. I didn't have to worry about losing the game, and when the team made mistakes, I didn't panic. This feels amazing and unusual at the same time, and I believe I'll love getting used to this.
Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer. He beat Tom Brady twice in the Superbowl and is in the top 4 in 4 categories All Time ! ... I wish more Giant fans like me would have appreciated him a little bit more because the Giants aren't going anywhere near a Superbowl with Daniel Jones
I totally agree with Mike on Eli and his HOF credentials. Mike made the point, he was never surrounded with great talent on offense, except for those SB seasons. I actually thought the Giants were better the year after the first one. I believe they may have been 9 or 10-1 when Plaxico shot himself and the season went downhill from there. AS Mike said, every other 2 time SB MVP is in the HOF so why not Eli? Amazing 4th quarter SB stats and he beat the greatest dynasty of all time...twice!!! Mike didn't evern talk much about the NFC championship games in GB and SF which were also classics.
As a life long Cowboys fan since the early 70s I will be the first to stand up and say, Eli Manning is a first ballot HOF. If Troy Aikman is a 1st ballot HOF which he is and deserves to be winning 94 games in a decade, 3 Superbowls in 4 years and a Super Bowl MVP, Eli Manning definitely should be as well winning 2 Super Bowls and 2 Super Bowl MVP's. Aikman got one Super Bowl MVP and the second Super Bowl the Cowboys won in Georgia, the defensive, offensive line and Emmitt carried Aikman as he was coming off a concussion in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers. Eli has around 24,000 more passing yards, double the TD's and one more Super Bowl MVP compared to Aikman. There should be no question that Manning is a 1st ballot HOF.
Mike is spot on. Eli was gold in clutch situations and was one of the most clutch QBs in history (he gave the numbers!). He accomplished a number of firsts and set multiple records during his career and his durability, as he mentioned, was outstanding. Like he said, the D was outstanding during those SB runs but it was Eli who led those TD winning drives. Trolls/critics, replies will be ignored.
Eli Manning was top 6 all time in passing tds and passing yards when he retired plus he has 2 super bowl MVP both won by him with legendary plays and drives he's definitely Hall of fame
Not spot on. At least 3 times he circled back to mention Eli driving down the score against the undefeated Pats. Maybe he doesnt remember the play before “the catch” where Eli threw the ball right to Asante Samuel who dropped what would have been a game winning interception. Either way they scored 17 pts in that game. The defense won that game. Not to mention the Welker drop in the other super bowl. How about in both of those NFC championship wins the other team turning the ball over in their own redzone in OT, so the Giants could just win by running the ball 3 times a kicking a game winning field goal. Two of the luckiest super bowl runs of all time. Mike’s entire argument was 2 super bowls and 2 super bowl MVPs, without considering any other nuances. It’s the lowest-resolution level of sports analysis, especially when you’re talking about the most complex major team sport of them all. Eli’s career was mostly awful outside of those 2 playoff runs, even in those 2 regular seasons. Did he ever even win a playoff game outside of those 2 postseasons?
@@benjaminireland7096amusing you cite luck for the 2007 and 2011 teams, yet try to make the argument against Eli because of the other playoff wins. Did you watch those playoff games? Eli led the offense down and scored to tie in Philly (2006) and the defense casually let Jeff Gercia and Brian Westbrook march down to win. Or the 2016 playoff loss where his wide receivers were dropping touchdowns and first downs left and right. And the Asante Samuel play, he never was coming down in bounds even if he is able to get two full hands on it. He barely got two fingertips. It wasn't a bad pass, but a bad route by Tyree. 18-1 brotha.
Eli is absolutely 💯 a HOF. The 2 Super Bowl all on the road and the iron man games played and come from behind wins is all I need to say. Nm yards and 2 SB MVPS.
He was SB MVP because they didn't want to give it to a defensive player. The defense won them those 2 Super Bowls by holding the Patriots to 14 and 17 points.
@@vicanthony5470 could have gave it to tuck or strahan or osi. I still see the Alford sack to end the undefeated pats but Eli did win them both. Hall of FAME
Those defenses were great because they constantly got pressure with the front four, but Eli was as clutch as any qb I've ever seen in those amazing playoff runs leading up to those sb's. He was phenomenal with those last possession game winning drives. Not many qb's are capable of doing what he did during those 2 sb runs.
I completely disagree...Eli was a middling QB at best vs. his peers in his era. He won one Super Bowl with a great performance, but the other one was gifted to him and the NYG via pure luck on one miraculous 4th down play where Eli managed to somehow avoid a sack and desperately fling the ball downfield where David Tyree even more miraculously pinned the ball to his helmet and held on. Clearly one of the most incredible single plays in Super Bowl and NFL history. But, on balance and in fairness, Eli is short of being a HOFer imho because of his mediocre regular season career QB stats...Putting Eli in the HOF is like putting a .275 lifetime hitter who averaged 18 HRs/year in Cooperstown simply because that player won two World Series which would NEVER happen in baseball...So, why should it happen in football...?? It shouldn't....!! - From a Giants fan since I saw Dick Kotite play TE for the Giants in Yankee Stadium in 1967
Even if Eli doesn’t get in Namath most definitely belongs because he changed the game. He changed the entire future with that Super Bowl victory over the Baltimore Colts. He orchestrated the single biggest upset in history of NFL.
@@tonynardini1472 namath was on terrible teams and was forced to pass constantly. his lack of mobility didnt help. what he accomplished was amazing considering his bad knees and the beating he took.
Pats fan here. Our D is overrated from last year without our top LB and DT. And the O line last night was injured across the board. Jets did what they needed to do and Pats offense couldn’t do anything. Mikes right it’s whether they can beat Minnesota, which will be very tough
Gotta beat Denver first. Minnesota will be a big test but the neutral site should help. Gotta figure more Jets fans are gonna take the trek to shitty London.
Remember too the Jets were on a short week after 2 Road Games, what a tough way to start the season. So them looking as good as they did on short rest, that's a great thing. They look like a team heading to a playoff birth, but they have to make sure they don't get a lot of injuries.
@@christiansoldier77 Yeah New England sucks but still had to beat them. If you watch the league from week to week, there are no gimmie games. Even Carolina is going to win a game eventually and they are the worst team I've seen since probably the 08 Lions Minny is not a juggernaut, I dont think I said they are. But they are a good team who just beat SF. It helps we arent playing them in Minnesota since thats a tough place to play thse days.
What a difference a real QB makes: Rodgers is such a special player. And we haven’t even seen yet what he looks like once he’s on the same page with Garrett Wilson.
I'm a Giants fan yet I also like and respect Aaron Rodgers. My father was a Jets fan as is my sister. I can pull for the Jets to win no problem. Along with the Yankees, Knicks and Isles. As much as I loathe stating this the Giants are better off tanking. And losing to the Washington Commanders!!! Beating D.C. every year has allowed the Commanders to draft lower year after year. They netted Chase Young a few years ago and Jayden Daniels last season.
Its amazing the crap Saleh has take from the media. He has been great from day one making this defense one of the best in the NFL. He just needed a QB . What did Belichick do without a QB ?
I don't disagree with Mike, but to tell the complete story the Pats' defense in 2011 was average at best. Go look up the no-name players they had at playing in that Super Bowl. Add to the mix a hobbled Gronkowski and a weak NE receiving corps, the game shouldn't have been that close.
Lets go Mets ! 10 runs 3 games in a row for the first time in team History ! Tied with Arizona for the 2nd Wildcard. Acuna will be better than Lindor soon sign him !. Imagine if the Mets had very good pitching they would have won well over 100 games this year
I am a die hard Patriots fan but I blame Belichick for that loss to the Giants that denied them 19-00. He never had a game plan, and he is the worst coach ever to win a Super Bowl. He had Tom Brady as his security blanket. Kraft should've fired Belichick after they lost to the Giants in that first Super Bowl. The Patriots would've been better off.
jets looked like the much better coached team tonight for the first time in the robert saleh era the pats had 0 chance to win tonight with the gameplan they had
The Eagles fell off a cliff at the end of last year and a big reason was that Reddick fell off a cliff at the end of last year. He knows his done and wants to steal a last big pay day before everyone realizes he's cooked.\ I wouldn't mortgage anything down the road for him, not worth it.
