When I started catch and release fishing I stopped using treble hooks. Most 3oz to 5 oz jigs have long shank circle hooks or J hooks for offshore trolling. May want to try swapping the treble hook out one time and see if that helps with jacks popping off. Circles and J hooks will give you a bigger grab than the treble and less likely to hang on rocks when your reeling in without a fish on.

Another great video! I can't believe I missed this adventure again! I went down to South Padre and planned to fish my way up, but caught covid as soon as I got there and barely got to do any fishing. But I did catch some sheepshead at the north packery so that was cool! Next is reds, spanish, trouts, flounders, jacks, kings, and maybe even cobia and snook!

Regular tennis shoes or crocs. What helps us with the slimy rocks is the Korkers Cleats the we put over our shoes
