mannn that’s so awesome i live right up above you😂 i live in del norte and stumbled across your page about a month ago your vids are so sick bro i’ve always fished my jetti but never had the stuff to cook a fresh meal right on the ocean like you do, that’s is so rad🤙🏽
Glad to see young folks enjoying themselves doing outdoor activities like this ! The enthusiasm is awesome. I heard the big Surf Perch are biting out there at Samoha and Centerville.
Oh Man!!! You got me with this one. So delicious I can taste it through the screen. The freshest fish sandwiches you could wish for. And also I like the knife! Keep these videos coming! Can’t wait to get my next ling ‘cause I’m gonna make me some sandwiches like that. Hell Yeah!
Thank you so much man!! I’m trying as hard as I can. I wish I could communicate to all of you and update on videos but I’ll work on that.. next video will probably be on the yaks out on the pacific for lings and rockfish. Possible catch & cook
I almost bought the farm on the North side of the North Jetty. I hooked a giant fish, went to jump from the rocks to the roadway and slipped, smashed my face and fell in the water behind the rocks. I had blood coming down my forehead and my whole hip and leg turned black and blue later. I climbed back up and the fish was still on the line. I thought it might be a salmon. I was in so much pain and shock, I almost just broke it off and left. I knew I would regret it. I reel it in, and it was Big Skate about 6 ft wide. Then I broke it off and left. Watch your step!!
Hey man my name is Elijah Killebrew I fish on the North Jetty all the time I'm usually on the dolos I would love to go fishing with you I watch all out of your videos
Dang dude.. seems like a killer setup. Try different swimbaits and colors. I like curly tails when the paddle tails aren’t working. The split tails haven’t produced very well for me. You’ll get em next time!!
Nice video! I just moved to Arcata from Canada. I have yet to land a Ling from the jetty but last week I pulled in a 28" Chinook Salmon which is apparently rare for the area? Still waiting on that long though as I heard they taste delicious!
a chinook caught from the jetty is absolutely epic!!!! Salmon run timing is a lot different here because the water temps and rain. What were you even using?
I cast far. Not super try hard far but around 75ft our with a swimbait. You could 100% catch fish on 30ft casts all day. Just depends where they are waiting to ambush it. Work it slow through a good pocket and they’ll show themselves.
If you start at the calm side with the big post and walk down the jetty, when the rocks turn into a squared off wall, starting from there to the end of the jetty is a producer for me. There’s an area with a lot of mussels down from there that I’ve never had any action at. Stay safe out there and good luck!!
Humboldt Fishing do you know if they’re kicking out people out of the camping area parking lot? I like to ride my bike on the dunes and fish but not sure if they’re allowing it.
Hey dude I like your videos a lot, I moved to eureka back in January and I've been watching your videos. I bought a rod and reel and I'm going to head out to the north jetty. What time of day do you recommend me going? I'm going for ling and or rockfish.
Since nobody answered you I will answer you because I have more experience than these children. Obviously, the best time to go fishing would be around 6 or 7 a.m. and use shrimp or little bit of squid or a half ounce swimbait. Can also have good luck using a poke pole which is a 12 foot piece of PVC 1/2 inch spray painted Driftwood color with a 6-inch coat hanger as a leader with a loop at the end ..then attach a small 3in leader with an 🐙 octo snell hook and a piece of squid on it you will come up with lingcod every time. Fished that Jetty for 5 years straight every single day. During spring you can also catch salmon at the very end of the South Jetty in Eureka you just have to have the right gear. Using the Poke pole method you will never lose weight or gear which is expensive especially if you fish everyday. You will also never get skunk and catch a variety of fish including monkey faced eel Cabazon and lingcod
Its Bob's brother uncle Pete,Dude that vid was Delicious, want to some salmon fishing in the fall I need a guide $$$$,I'm blessed and still working ,think about it ?late
I'm sure you boys know but in the winter time and pretty much all the time watch out for sneaker waves. A lot of people have died on that f****** Jetty and a lot of local fishermen that I know have pulled bodies out of the water
