I really admire Hamza Yusuf :-) He seems to have a mountain of knowledge about Islam and other field of studies. He is just amazingly brilliant, May Allah bless him and his family and reward him for the benefits we get out of his lectures and public speaking engagements that we are able to listen to :-)

Assalaam alaykum brother. I Hope Allah cures you and shows you mercy. Learn the du'as for cure and read Qur'an which is a cure and give charity. No Sufi so-called Wali will be able to help you just because of who he is because that's not genuine Islam---it's innovation. The Prophet, Peace be upon him and his Companions, May Allah be pleased with them, never left us any information about something called Sufis, and no one can say this individual or that is a Wali when he himself or herself can't even guarantee themselves entrance into Jannah, so who told them so and so is a Wali. How do they know what these individuals do in secret? Who can judge these Sufi charlatans have wisdom while unless they are gullible and bold enough to claim it for themselves? Common sense. Truth stands clear from falsehood.
Mashallah brother, I pray that Allah make it easy for you. I'd advise you to learn aqidah tul wasitiyya by ibn taymiyya, to have a very good understanding of the core beliefs in Islam. And remember, to stick to the Quran and Sunnah. May Allah grant you success in this life and the next.

Sheikh Hamza is the only scholar who gives dars(lesson) or delivers knowledge the way he does. We are blessed with our other beloved teachers of Deen as well(Mufti Menk, Nouman Ali Khan...), but his style stands out to be unique and rare.😊

I am confused as a muslim. As a religion of peace, why do muslims advocate death for apostasy? Why do muslims allow beating of women and children? Why does islam allow mutilation of young girls vaginas? Surely this is evil barbaric practice? It also disturbs me that mohammed is worshipped because he is is a peadophile. Islam is wrong, surely? Islam is full of hate and delusion? Especially as no one has proved there is a god? How can muslims kill people for non belief of a god, if they cannot prove their is a god? Answer me that?
coltsuperocean10 peace my fellow human being. death for apostasy is true of all the monotheistic faiths and the interpretation of the law changes over time and is not considered appropriate for this day and age apparently. . . the beating of women/ children is an often mistranslated word, it is rather "as if you were patting sand" as opposed to "beating". . . and fgm for the clitoris is not the norm in Islam and is likely a misinterpreted reading of the path and has now become a cultural norm in only a few parts of the world rather than a true reflection of the way of Islam. . . . keep looking for truth and you will find it beautiful. . . peace
It is clear from what you said that you are not a muslim. Muslims do not worship Prophet Muhammad. They only worship Allah. Genital mutilation is an african practice not islamic. Even now this is practiced mostly in many non muslim african countries. Saudi Arabia does not practice this
Mashallah … showing love towards scholars is a part of adab …. All of u who don’t understand the love towards the teachers , parents and scholars actually all is related to adab . What are u listening when u are picking up things of each other ? Y can’t everyone just let things go that does not concern u . Anyways I have huge amount of respect for sheikh Hamza Yousaf it is only cuz of his Eman . That’s what he is teaching to accept each other with love and respect . Mashallah , I have seen some recent videos from shaykh Hamza, and he looks great and there is a light/noor about him! I think your faith has been on the straight path (serat mostaqim) lately! I hope. There are things that I don't want to mention in public. Just like back in cold war days if the truth came out about communism no one would believe it. so I just hope you got to the real truth.
Seeking Forgiveness And Repentance قَالَ رَسُوْلُ الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم-: « وَاللهِ إِنِّيْ لأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ سَبْعِيْنَ مَرَّةً » The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said: ‘By Allaah, I seek forgiveness and repent to Allaah, more than seventy times a day. وَقَالَ -صلى الله وسلم-: « يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تُوْبُوْا إِلَى اللهِ فَإِنِّيْ أَتُوْبُ فِي الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ » He (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘O People, Repent to Allaah! Verily I repent to Him a hundred times a day.’ وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم : « من قال أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الْعَظِيْمَ الَّذِيْ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْهِ , غفر الله له وإن كان فر من الزحف » He (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘Whoever says: ‘I seek Allaah’s forgiveness, besides whom, none has the right to be worshipped except He, The Ever Living, The Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.’ Allaah would forgive him even if he was one who fled during the advance of an army.’ وَقَالَ -صلى الله وسلم-: « أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُوْنُ الرَّبُّ مِنَ الْعَبْدِ فِيْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ اْلآخِرِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُوْنَ مِمَّنْ يَذْكُرُ اللهَ فِيْ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ فَكُنْ » He (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said: ‘The nearest the Lord comes to His servant is in the middle of the night, so if you are able to be of those who remember Allaah at that time, then be so.’ وَقَالَ -صلى الله وسلم-: « أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُوْنُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ » He (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘The nearest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrate, so supplicate much therein.’ وَقَالَ -صلى الله وسلم-: ((إِنَّهُ لَيُغَانُ عَلَى قَلْبِيْ وَإِنِّيْ لأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ) He (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) also said: ‘Verily my heart becomes preoccupied , and verily I seek Allaah’s forgiveness a hundred times a day.’

At 9. 20 of the video the wrong understanding or analogy because at that time the sharea was not revealed 100% so whatever was coming, became the part of shareah. That's why we say you can't do any zikar unless its proven in Qur'an and authentic hadeeth. Because zikar as ibaadah has to be what Qur'an and sunnah tells us. But if there are azkaar time or place where the shareah tells us that you can do your own zikar then we can. An example is in salaath, in second tasshahud we can do any dua we like. Or after salaath, the azkaar we do it which are prescribed through Qur'an and authentic sunnah after that individually we can make any of dua we like. So at that time any of zikar is allowed without its counting in particular number .. and so on so forth.
