That society is taught to see themselves as superior and dehumanize Palestinians. Are you surprised they know nothing. All they learn in hebrew school is about the Hol lo kaust and that Israel is THEIRS, owed to them. That’s it. It is notable how Dr. Finkelstein has stood out among the many others who earned the respect of the Muslim community as it is beautifully ironic considering how a brilliant professor is degraded by the persecutions of his national academy but bloomed in the hearts of the millions oppressed, the refugees in the concentration camps. His efforts will be indelible and memorable unlike the mouthpiece professors of the ivy league pampering into the power.
I believe the first use of the phrase “concentration camp” was actually British, who established such “concentration camps” in South Africa during the Boer War during the late 19th century.

Dr. Finklestein leaves me feeling proud of my Jewish heritage. Rather than ashamed of it, as does Netanyahu and most of the current Israeli government. He's a true humanitarian, as were so many of the Jews I remember from my youth. Those who marched in the Civil Rights movement. Those who spoke truth to power and stood up for what's right. It's so easy to rationalize evil. So hard to look squarely at it and see it for what it is when it threatens something one loves. I understand because I was raised on the Israeli propaganda. Took me a long time to see through it. For years, I thought Israel could do no wrong. Then, little by little, as I met Palestinians and came to see the world through their eyes, I started to understand that the entire Zionist project was an exercise in 19th Century colonialism. That the British explicitly offered the early Zionists several possible locations, all of which had indigenous populations that were not white. If this were a just world, there would be an Israel and it would exist in Bavaria.
