This guy is incredible. Can you imagine being a child with nowhere to go, completely alone, and being hunted like a deer? That is a level of perseverance that few people would have.

Dear Sir thank you for sharing your story with us. As a Christian I am humbled to hear what a little boy has been through because of human hate. But you're an amazing man and an example of what a human should be. God Bless!!

It's amazing what they lived through even when they felt like dying. I'm glad his survival instinct was so strong. SALUTE Irvin!

You couldn't make a survival plan to make it. This poor boy managed to follow his survival instincts on a day to day basis. Much admiration and respect.

His words about his wandering and hiding as a child..."you know, most people felt sorry for me, they just wouldn't do anything." Makes me wonder how many of us still today 'just won't do anything.'

I asked a couple people what they would do if a person needed help. Most of them said if they didn’t have family living with them they would. Otherwise they wouldn’t put their family in danger. You never know how you would react.

He really wanted his kids to hear his story...an incredible story....but kids just don’t get it, especially your own kids, but I guess that’s normal. This man is such an amazing person, and has experiences that most of us just can not get our heads around.

Mr. Miller's mother must have known that her son had great courage to send him out of the ghetto. She could have sent his brother, who was older, but she sent him. And he made it!

Irv, having grown up in such a large, close family and community, as a 12-year-old on the run for his life, being literally hunted, the isolation and horror he must have felt leaving his family is unimaginable. He had good skills and exceptional survival instincts. Under the circumstances, he did probably exactly what he needed to do to survive. In his place, I don't think I would have lasted three weeks. There were Poles of modest means who at great risk to themselves hid and fed entire Jewish families in their barns for months or longer, but they were extremely rare. In rural areas and small towns, the type of people Irv encountered were more common.

I just learned that Chelm was a real place! I read my friend’s Sholem Alechem stories as a child, but it never occurred to me there was such a place. I think I’ll revisit them now that I’m retired and have a little more time.

So dangerous for a young boy. Without his mum, family, shelter, food. Safety. He must have been so scared. 😥in some of these Interviews....their bellys were rumbeling. Understandable that they might have been hungry. Sure...had to be..but so so long. Anyways very touching.

Passover is celebrated for seven days in a lot of very religious Jewish people. At least that's what I've read. You know how in the Bible in Exodus when God tells them to eat the bread for six days and have the feast on the seventh and do all the things that set them free (don't wanna get graphic) I'm not Jewish so I can't say it's celebrated still with everyone that way.. I'm just remembering past reading from a very long time ago but I know for sure it's celebration for seven days.
