Mrs Eden is an remarkable speaker. Straightforward, gave such an remarkable testimony. Coming from such a loving home, lifestyle and enduring such miserable war conditions. Surviving such a dark and evil time in history. Amazing! Thank you for sharing.

Vera's testimony is so remarkable. Her survival was due in great part to her mother, sister and herself sticking together and encouraging each other. So sad that her mother became so sick. Vera has great insight into those events and the people who caused such havoc. She gives such a great narrative of what happened to her. It is so true that a good upbringing helps to set you up for whatever life throws at you. Even just the 9 years that she had before the war seems to have made such a difference in her survival and also in her life afterwards. Her thoughts about how wonderful her parents were was so touching. Leaving a rose at the places where each of them met their deaths was a great tribute to them.

SANDY C. EDEN Your mums story touched me very much. It’s so hard to give a ‘like’ to these testimonies. They’re not likeable things. I hope you take the ‘like’ in the spirit it is intended. I too sincerely hope that your mum and dad are dancing in heaven. I took it by that that they are ‘together’. What wonderful parents your mum had. One can’t think of anything i life that could be so barbaric. What wonderful parents you must have had, you and your family. They all stood before G-D with loving, pure hearts. The perpetrators will not have that opportunity. I too am waiting patiently to dance with my husband and to see my father . I know your religion doesn’t like to see the name of G-D in writing but I please beg of you to also take that with love. G-D bless you and your family. Your beautiful parents and grandparents will be waiting for you lovingly ‘one day’. Thank you from Australia.

Such a treasure your mother was ! Please, Sandy, don't pay attention to any of the horrible remarks some people have written here. You know the truth, your mom LIVED the truth, and shared her experience with the world. I thank her for this. As for those who choose to deny the Holocaust and want to curse the Jewish people...let me say this. Your comments on here is as far as it will go! You are outnumbered by those of us who know this took place and these people suffered unimaginable horrors. As well as those who helped the Jews. It will Never be forgotten nor will it EVER happen again ! God bless you Sandy and your entire family !

I listen to one or two of these testimonials every month to find out their stories and also remind myself of how lucky I am and how cruel people can be. Admire the courage to go on that survivors show. Though there aren't too many Canadians on here, I wonder at the fact that the Americans seem American, Brits, Brit, and Canadians, Canadian, despite all they went through, and all the cultures and all the languages they speak. As a fellow Canadian, so glad the Eden family choose Canada, as we are a better country for it. And they are ‘true’ Canadians as lived in Winnipeg, and not just ‘down east.’

Body language looking down to the right indicative of trying to attend to internal emotions. She put up such a strong face but her fragility and pain were so apparent.

Vee Vee..Actually Vee Vee my Mother had an outstanding memory..reason for the body language is when my Mom looked away like that she was seeing her memories as a movie and so she needed a moment to recall the memory precisely. Thus is the reason for looking down or away. My Mother worked very hard on her life in every aspect after the war and accomplished a great deal. My hero! Thank you for your comment.😇

Hi Jake..my mom spoke very little Czech once she was in Canada..though mom did speak Czech with my dad..since I did not understand the language..it was their secret code..lol..seriously though..mom was very articulate in any language😊

Hi Jake..not sure about my aunt Eva..last I knew she was in Haifa..I know she was extremely involved in the community on this subject..my mom was the only one in the family that was interviewed..my mom learned english in the movie houses in Britain and mom made a massive point of speaking proper english with a Canadian accent..my mom was such a sweet and brilliant women😇..self taught.

I loved that too, and when she laughed at interviewer when she asked if they had a bathroom in family’s apartment. And the interviewer is very good. So many of them talk too much and interrupt the survivors.

❤ Amazing beautiful strong true Lady. Thank you so much for sharing ❤ ❤ my father was an American soldier in WWII and he had horrible nightmares until he died at age 90 at his home same he didn't talk about the war and we knew better yo ask respect when he got older he talked then i understood as much as possible at his WWII reunions i met some holocaust survivors and I'll never forget any of them teach your children about what happened and teach them to love not hate anybody anywhere no matter what ❤ can never let this happen again

Hi Hellen..my Mom😇 was very nervous to make this film. It was never easy to speak so open and candid about her survival..in reality my Mom😇 was soft and gentle caring and loving in all honesty with a ton of empathy and kindness. My Mom😇 loved to laugh sing and dance and just live again..as my Mom😇 would always say..Every Moment is Special and Precious soo you must make each and every Moment Special and Precious as you can..No Matter What Because this beautiful moment will never come again!😊😇💞💜👍👍

Disconnect, yes the mechanism to deal with traumatic, very traumatic situations. Otherwise you would go to pieces, anyone would! Then trauma gets stored in our bodies and in order to truly heal, stage by stage over varying durations of time these horrific things can be exorcised.

Thanks Sandy. Yes I do believe that also. Life is very special and precious. I try my best to live by that and bring our children up to be like that. My parents are still alive and well and live in Canada. My mother is Belgian and lived in occupied Antwerp, my father is English. All the best and take care. 🎹🙏

How heart wrenching! What a captivating account & so well articulated. Such horrific circumstances at the hands of these evil Nazis. Jesus Christ, our Lord & Savior, is the only hope for this desperately inhumane world. He has promised to wipe away every tear for those who put their faith and trust in Him. The KJV Holy Bible says in I John 2:25: And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

When you see broken beyond repair Jesus see healing beyond belief When you see too far gone He see one step away from home When you see nothing but damaged goods God see something good in the making When you see wounded, He see mended You see your worst mistake But Jesus sees the price He paid He's not finished yet, the broken are His miracles in the making; we need to see others as Jesus see them and help them as He would.
