JHS NOTAKLÖN - Is this Klon NOT a Klon??? 

I'll say that I bought the Notaklon more for the fun/novelty and figured it may sound decent. Sounds awesome! I have been floored with how wonderful it sounds. I crank the gain to around 3 o clock and run it on a clean channel to give it bite. It can be used in a variety of ways though. The transparency is really comendable. I really, really enjoy it. Kudos to JHS for this one!

This comment really makes more sense speaking to the people who spend 7k on a klon and then only use its volume to boost. With no gain it’s the same as running any od pedal as a volume boost. The “magic diodes” don’t kick in until the gain is past 4 or 5. At $100 though it’s not really relevant since I’ve spent that on a boost before that didn’t have amazing gain at the turn of a dial.

10 yrs ago I tried to switch for my Blues Driver for a Klone and I couldn't deal with the lack of compression on my string attack. Now I use a morning glory for this same purpose, but I'm curious if I should try this one out at some point. It's been a long time since I've tried it. Cool video - thank you.
