@@zia_thao7338 well one gave it up willingly and the other was stripped of it after being captured to protect the first. But let's be honest Madam Yu is the source of all of Jiang Cheng's insecurities and hatred when it comes to wwx(or anything really). Both Jiang Cheng and WWX blamed WWX for things that were never actually his fault and they still protected each other till the end - as best as they could. Their relationship to me seems the most real and touching in the whole show tbh

And His father never appreciated his efforts like he did for wie ying. Ofc jiang is the realistic one here.. we all feel jelousy when our parents compare us to others..

@@hekimeti1614 Tbh both parents r irresponsible. Like JC' dad brought child one day n said he adopted. (No hate to WWX) but Didn't ask Madam Yu if u want to adopt? & expected all of them to treat WWX like family. U can't just do that!! He cared for others but his bonding with JC (his own son) was almost non-existant. Madam Yu never accepted WWX & expected JC to act like Trophy, pride of their clan. Also it affected Yanli - she was just teenage girl but she acted like adult, took care of her brothers as parent. There parents caused WWX to feel like his value is less than others n JC felt like he is always second option.

Actually Jiang cheng and Wei ying were both right and wrong. They both loved each other beyond imagination and that love turned to hate under certain circumstances. All I wanna say is that they should have trusted each other and that secrets can bring cracks even in the strongest relation.

Well Wei Ying never hated him, he was hurt but he was always understanding of Jiang Cheng circumstances and knew and trusted he had his reasons. You can't say the same for Jiang Cheng... In a way guangyao was right telling Jiang Cheng his envy blinded him and cause Wei ying all this pain. But then again there once was a time Jiang Cheng was willing to die for Wei ying. He was mostly mad at him for abandoning him too in my opinion...

I agree with you. Moreover, don't all these failed/accomplished relationships throughout the drama, with particular focus to Jiang Cheng - Wei WuXian, as well as Jin GuangYao - Lan XiChen, recall so much of the "Who's right, who's wrong? Who's black, who's white?" leitmotif? It's just showing different ways of how people relate when they don't trust each other enough (Yunmeng brothers) vs. when they trust too much (Meng Yao and older brother Lan). There's no right or wrong, or there's both since none of these relationships ended up well. Anyway, it's this reality inserted so well under the curtain of drama that definitely got me hooked to this whole story from "The Untamed".

@@z.o.o9838 We are talking about real people-people get jealous all the time. If you ask me, it was his father who was responsible for the envy in Jiang Cheng. His mother never favoured him, she hate wwx and hated that her son was seen beneath him, but no, she never supported jc as she should have. Then they both died and the brothers had a fight, wwx decided to protect the wens. JC struggled to re-establish lotus pier. Both of then chose their own paths, their ambitions and pririoties were different-JC wanted his family/sect to be safe and wwx wanted to help innocents. Both of them had no other options. But I think that wwx giving jc his core was not right. It was jc's decision to make-if he wanted to accept that debt. Wwx took away that right from him. JC also couldn't/didn't support wwx down the demonic path. After all this when wwx came back, wen ning revealed the truth about his core as if it had been JC who had instigated the core transfer. Jc never asked for a core at the expense of wwx's. He would never have. If wwx was so self sacrificing, why does jc have to match the standard?

This is true except for the hate part, they never hated one another, their love never died in my opinion,They just couldn't be there for one another at a time where they needed each other the most and it's so sad.

The amount of tears ive shed for jiang cheng 😭😭 he really deserved the world but all he got was pain and more pain 😭 His love died and he couldn't do anything about it, his brother sacrificed everything to keep him safe, his sister died in his arms 😭 his whole family murdered 😭😭😭 jiang cheng did not deserve the fate he got and the way you portray his relationship with wuxian in this video just 😭😭😭 Rip my heart, i didnt need it anyway 😭

These two brothers truly loved each other but couldn't show the other how deep it was. Jiang Cheng let him go with Lan Zhan because he knows Lan Zhan will always take care of Wuxian more than him. I felt sad for him. But without his silent sacrifice we could've never liked his character. It was his repentance cause he was indeed wrong in so many cases.

I’m grateful the drama gave them more closure and had Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian actually talk about their issues. ;w; I believe in the novel they were even more like “there’s nothing to talk about,” which is definitely depressing.

I'm just happy Jiang Cheng didn't forbid Jin Ling to meet Wei Ying anymore. Wei Ying loves Jin Ling and always want to be part of Jing Ling's life, so I'm happy when I read the novel that Wei Ying, Jin Ling and the Lan boys hunting ghost together.

Well in the novel I feel like wei Ying got a happy ending, one of the best endings I’ve seen for a antihero and Jiang Cheng got a relatively sad ending for what he had to go through, since he lost the majority of the people that meant a lot to him because of wei thing’s choices even tho wei Ying couldn’t control it. All he has left is Ling Ying and We Yibg

Their story was so heartbreaking bc it was all a misunderstanding. Maybe if they'd known the truth earlier, it wouldve been better. The novel doesn't even give enough closure which is sad. But honestly, their love for each other was so real like brothers but they ended up being ripped apart due to what they went through

Both of them aren’t at fault. Jiang Cheng saved wuxian from getting caught and wuxian saved jiang cheng by giving him his golden core.. the true brothers, we can see how much they loved each other, they deserved a better ending❤️

But Wei ying did much more for Jiang Cheng. Giving your golden core is incomparable to saving him from some soldiers. I'm not saying it's little but Wei ying did much more. I only wish Jiang Cheng would stay strong and help weiying like lanzhan did. He rely on people's opinion too much.

Tbh I think Jc is perfectly right not to feel grateful for the golden core. But he still realised how wwx helped him. Because he never asked and the one time he wanted to the right way. He failed.. he felt like he failed when he realised he had the core. He failed to protect his brother. If only they talked it out more

@@thenhoikipgen1300 I don't think there should be a measure of how one sacrificed himself. You cannot say JC did less or WWX did more because both their choices had a high chance of them not surviving and I think it speaks to how deep their love is if they could willingly choose to die for one another. Think of it this way: if JC didn't let himself get captured by the Wens, WWX could be tortured and die. If WWX didn't give JC his core he may become depressed and die, either thru depression or unhealthiness. It weighs almost the same thing tbfh

He literally had everyone, he just gave up the quality for the quantity. He chose the majority over his righteousness. He also always had lan xichen if he needed and the younger Nie. Also, might I remind you that at first even lan zhan turned his back on Wei ying although he knew in his heart he was right. So he could've had Lan Zhan too. He just chose self pitiness, self dishonesty and isolation

@@z.o.o9838 i agree with the jiang cheng part but i dont think lan zhan ever turned his back on wei ying He was willing to help wei ying many times even after being rejected by wei ying for few times and he was also hurt by wei ying's words like how strangers would understand nature of my heart, it would be honoured to be killed by you, etc. Those sentences must have been so hard on wangji....I know wei wuxian had his own reason but lan zhan didn't knew it at that time still he helped him in calming his heart and also letting him go that rainy night and even in those big clan leader conferences he always took stand for wei ying and never doubted him.

It's so sad - despite promises that they'd be brothers again in their next life, I don't think they could ever get back what they had in this life. Honestly, I think *SPOILERS**** that Yanli's death sealed their fate. They can't ever be brothers again without their senior sister to be the glue, :(.

Amber Q That’s what I thought!! Yanli is the pacifier in the relationship so when she is gone, it became the wound that cannot be healed. But what’s more pity is that wei ying never knew about Jiang Cheng ‘s sacrifices, that he lost his golden core because he tried to lure the enemies away for wei ying, that he actually didn’t want to kill his brother but just want to lock him at the Lotus Pier, to protect him, that he missed his brother very much during 16 years wei ying disappeared! Wei ting can have Lan zhang stay by his side forever but jiang cheng never had that chance!

@Amber Q It’s in the novel, I maybe misremembered some details but I’m sure jiang cheng never wanted wei ying die. In the novel, he actually wanted to bring wei ying back to to lotus pier, make him kneel in front of his parents’ and yanli’s tombstones. The night at the nightless city, his true intention was to bring wei ying back, to protect him but he had to say that he wanted to catch wei ying in front of the other clans

The person who actually lost everything was Jiang Cheng..wei wuxian had lan zhan and wen ning always with him... But jiang cheng lost everyone and was only finding his loved ones in his sister's child... I feel bad for both of them 😭

I understand them both, JC's hatred was a cause for ignoring his feelings about the father issue and not trusting WWX enough. While WWX doesn't have the guts to say JC what really happen. Both tragic and im crying 😭

Why do I feel like jc actually never hate wwx .. Its feel like he tried to hate him, by keep on blaming him, for his family and sister.. But if he truly hate him, he could've killed wwx from the first time they met after 16 years but he didn't.. Even at the nevernight, he also fighting with his own thoughts wether to kill wwx or not.. Its like jc still love him despite everything that happen but to not being called as a traitor to the cultivator world he claim he hates wwx with passion... Like his face when jin ling wants to stab wwx and whenever bad things happens to wwx, he still care but not allowed to show.. Poor baby 🥺🥺

I knew I'm not the only one thinking that this song fits these two (I kept on lying awake at night thinking about them as I listened to the song on loop ;-;). GOSH, I'm probably more invested in their relationship than the main pair, maybe because theirs is just so sad and bitter how a strong bond goes awry. From childhood best friends that are as thick as thieves together to strangers that no longer walk the same rhythm like they do before (in the novel it's more like "there's nothing left to say", but thank god for the drama making it more hopeful for them). Their brotherhood is probably one of the most beautiful (and sad) aspects in MDZS and CQL, seeing how their love for each other snowballed into both giving up their cores and sacrificing for each other without the other knowing (not really true for JC as he knows about the core thing by the end BUT STILL, they love each other that they would risk themselves for the other). These two clowns didn't know that they are both important to each other, kept on thinking that they're not the best brothers for each other, god the misunderstandings these two can cause. I'm still crying about Yunmeng Shuangjie even after a year.

Their ending really fucked me up...I really believe they could patch things up enough to sometimes be around each other and slowly go back to being friends. I don’t think they could have been brothers again because there was so much hurt but damn! They still love each other!! I really think that time would have healed a bit of wounds so seeing JC let WY go hurt me a lot. At least they could have a heart to heart and clear up the misunderstanding.

You know more then anything watching them was so painful for me .they both loved each other so much they still did but they couldn't say it especially jiang Cheng . I wont blame him for anything because the circumstances were like that but if only he would have supported wei everything would have been different. But one thing that no one can deny is their unconditional love for each others they truly loved each other alot .

Wei Wuxian has a big ego that he causes the life of Yunmeng Jiang family, never disclose an important information, and literally betrayed and broke his promise. He was no better than Jiang Cheng.

He was never in the wrong, he was the one who knew what was the right thing to do but got hated on... not only that but in the end it turns out all the things that he did weren't even him but clan leader jin. I dont think he did anything wrong, his brother should have been understanding of that instead of having such a grip on his reputation.

It's not that he's a brat but he has a high expectation for himself. Wei ying has always grabbed the attention of his uncle and of course he was gonna be sad that he didn't get the same treatment from his father. He blamed Xian for so many things (that didn't end up being his fault) but he didn't know it wasn't his brother's fault. Neither are brats but neither are right. I dont think xian did anything wrong but he should have been open with his brother and instead of always blaming things on xian he should have tried to understand his views on things instead of caring about his reputation. He didn't want others to think he wouldn't be able to be a good leader cause it was obvious everyone knew that his father was Stricker towards him than weixian.

He might be doing things for the greater good of many but still abandoned his younger sibling who have nothing left but him and caused so many tragedy in Jiang family. Even he is not the main cause he have contributions on it. You can't just absolve him of everything. He is not pure nor blameless. Jiang Cheng did not only done things due only for reputation but protecting a vulnerable sect who have no influence, wealth and protection at that time. Jiang Sect mostly compose of thos were victims of the war. Jiang Cheng has no ally and he have to put his people first. Jiang Cheng made a bad decision of following other sects but he was young and easily influenced while he us struggling to protect his sect. He was push into a situation. Yeah he made a bad decision but he ain't that bad. Both of them are. They were both push by circumstances.

He grew up neglected, push to be a perfect leader, never experienced love as a child should, kept being compared resulting to his inferiority complex and low self-esteem. Even its wrong that he think of reputation first you forget you are watching a Chinese show and set in their ancient times. Even until now reputation is important many prioritize family reputation first. Its a culture imbed among Asians. Wei Wuxian's character is honestly written in western style heroes. He is a lone wolf not meant to be leader even Yiling sect was run by Wen Qing not him.
