This Tiny Desk when it first came out is really what woke me up to J.I.D. I had heard of him but never really listened to him. This showcased that he was more than a rapper but a true artist. On the amazing band and bgvs I believe that most if not all of them are from various parts of the Atlanta area (East, West and Southside). I have actually seen Teja (bass player) perform at various spots in the ATL.

he did the tiny desk before the album released but it didn't come out until the album was already a few weeks old he said "it should be out" because of the sample clearance issues which delayed the drop

its funny you guys pointed out his drum majorisms and football stuff. JID had a full ride to Louisiana State college and got injured and had to drop out of school. So its safe to assume that it's in his blood.
