I'm 32 and I still have to show my coworkers my ID to prove my age because everyone thought I was in my early 20's even thought I let my beard grow out
I always said that you "can" hear alot of Kendrick in him when he on the mic, but somethings different about JID tho. He got his own style. I really fw dude heavy. Hope he becomes an icon. His flows are too dope to not be recognized by a bigger audience. Ultra talented for sure 💯💪🏽💪🏽
Lyrically and poetically he's not on Kendricks level, JID on a high level though. But Kendrick can't touch his flow and cadence, JID has one of the or maybe even the most advanced flows and cadences in his arsenal. The way he switches effortlessly without compromising his rhymes and bars is already legendary.
@@MickayG nah bro, I think that JID is only below artistically, he still focus on being dope and Kendrick understand something more deep to it, to put the real world in check. for me JID has no ceiling, he has te potencial to create a masterpiece too.
This album was incredible. Loved it. One more album like this and he's sealed his legacy. If it's even better then he's up there with all-timers (at least of the post-2000s)
@@defeatableairmanKendrick made you think about it but he is not your savior. “Who need a hero? You need a hero, look in the mirror there go your hero.”
@@SamueleAnselmo11check trae the truth remix he smoked cole gracefully you accidentally talking about kdot when j cole is not even the big 3 he in the number 10
@@WestPhillyLoko Nahh there's no influence there. They're both influenced by old soul and funk genres and apply it. Ppls brain naturally try to familiarise something new. JiD is his own artist
JID gotta a great point about him and Kendrick talk about black plight, and that's when the comparison stops right there, since one is from the South and the other is from the West Coast. Hope both niggas do a song together in the near future.
germany here, i’ve been listening to this dude a while, and immediately recognized his uniqueness the forever story is hands down album of the year at least. but i never watched an interview with him and i gotta admit, this dude is so humble and respectful, if you like rap, you just cannot hate on JID
Honestly, when I first heard his music I instantly had vibes to a Kendrick Lamar type of rapping, but whoever saying he got wack lyrics💀Must definitely not have heard The Forever Story 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯 And that’s coming from who don’t usually switch up from YB music.
I been a JID fan since dicaprio after hearing him & earthgang on KindaNeat pod. I knew from 1st spin this cat would come ⬆️. So happy to see JID get the acclaim he deserve.
They don't sound alike to me, But they do have 1 similarity, how they master their flows and cadence. They're very experimental and not afraid to try new flows and bar delivery. Ofc alot of rappers also do this but hey, it's whoever is in the spotlight
you buggin he sounds like Kendrick to be specific his voice inflections sound exactly like Kendrick. Only difference is JID technical pen is better and Dot makes better art.
Telling him he wasn’t getting g bigger was a good look. I was getting letters and my teammates told me I wasn’t getting taller and I saved me a lot of heartache because I didn’t get taller.
he’s so real, what is wack fr wack is subjective you dk what works as he said love how resistant he is to hating like he doesn’t view himself as above niggas cause he’s “lyrical” love that and him ah
I mess with J.I.D. heavy. His flow is impeccable and his bars are incredible, and if this interview is any indication, he also seems like a good dude. I'm waiting for him to take that throne!
Lol JID is too humble! He’s very lyrical! I love his song Ladies Ladies Ladies on the Revenge of the Dreamers lll album. It’s poetry frfr. Keep it up king!
Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
JID and Kendrick are both influenced by Andre 3k and Lil Wayne. That’s were the similarities comes from and of course Jid got some influence from Section 80 and GKMC
If people wanna compare him to someone they should compare him to Wayne, it piss me off when they compare him to Kendrick when he sounds nothing like Kendrick, but sounds exactly like Wayne sometimes
So I really like this interview. Good job host. Also, JID maybe no more interviews with creepy White men who have no clue how to address us. This was dope!
yes jid is getting bigger..thats how it suppose to be..he never had a major hit..n still being known.. j cole n kendrick did the same thing lol kendrick definitely not in his prime prime yet
