Incorrect! 1. Mwanga was King in Baganda (now Uganda) in the 19th century. By then, colonialism and interactions with Europeans and Arabs were widespread in Africa..From an excerpt in a book by Sylvia Tamusuza who is a professor in Uganda, “After the Arabs and other foreigners had come to Buganda, promiscuity became rampant…those Arabs also introduced another bad behavior, that of fellow men making other men their women [wives]… Mwanga was often given to the practice of sodomy, allegedly learnt from Arabs.” 2. The paintings of the Bushmen in South Africa, again can be traced back to when Germans came to Africa. 3. There is no concrete proof that homosexuality existed in Africa pre Arab and pre European interference. Why is that these people can tie homosexuality back to Africa, but all of the civilizations that we had with universities, thriving civilizations, etc, NOBODY HAS RECORD OF IT? WHY? They can’t even get the origins of Ancient Egypt right! Y’all need to stop letting these people be your “teachers!” Books are everywhere. Pick them up and do the research yourself! These people are constantly rewriting history, and we’re all falling for it! I love what Jidena is doing. I love most of his messages. Let's be clear...we're not just contained in West Africa. North Africa, Northeast Africa (most commonly known as the Middle East) and it's rich history is African history as well. The earliest history of Egypt, Israel, Ethiopia etc, etc. is African history.

Sometimes people get so caught up in wanting to sound deep and intellectual, they completely disregard the logical reasons or answers. People, like in the comments, are just going to take his word for and believe everything he said because "it's Jidenna" and "he's a snack". I like his music, believe he is very smart, and like that he wants Black/African people to progress and do better, but that does not make him right on everything he discussed. I'm glad I have a mind of my own.

Jidenna is correct in saying Africa is the most diverse continent. However there were Christians in Africa before it was colonized.When slavery started, the colonizers used that as a way to justify what they were doing. Why do you think they only shared certain parts of the bible. Colonizers twisted the words and meanings and changed them to instill fear in our ancestors.
