‘ME YOU & GOD’ is the latest offering from the multi-faceted Jidenna, since his 2019 ’85 To Africa’ release. A testament to the rapper’s triumph after the devastating 2020 pandemic that left the “Classic Man” on a journey of discovery, which one can assume has led him to the deep love that’s expressed on his new album.
Coming through to The Daily Cannon, Jidenna stopped by on the show’s Worship Wednesday to speak with host Nick Cannon, and co-hosts Courtney Bee, Masononthemic, and Abby De La Rosa. Focused on a more psychedelic-funk sound for this album era, the genre-bending artist hasn’t really defined his artistry and explains that his music is influenced by his surroundings and with the assistance of some medicinal support. While the rapper shares a somewhat disdain when people refer to his sound and his insight as “forward-thinking” and “progressive,” Jidenna’s journey of love and self-discovery has led him to a place of fairness, especially when it comes to his personal and intimate relationships.
Speaking on his experiences as someone in a polyamorous lifestyle, Jidenna explains how he had to overcome a sense of pain and insecurities when he first opened himself up to allow his partners to see other men. The “SWEETBiTTERS” rapper shares how he was able to evolve his understanding of his love-life, Jidenna offers up his perspective for both Nick and Abby’s relationship.
Jidenna goes on to complete “Life Lessons” segment and much more.
