This is Micro Homestead Ecology. We have been growing our own food and building a more sustainable life, in the high desert on less than an acre of land, since 2012 here in zone 6b. I am excited to use this platform to share some of what we have learned over the years.
Today, we continue our overview of the various seed starting methods we have tried. Jiffy peat pods are an interesting option, and for some plants, they work great. Like other options however, they are not without their limitations.

If you use warm water the pellets seem to soak up the water faster. Thanks for info.

I saw something about that recently! Thanks for sharing. Mine were definitely cold and it took forever. I tried to film it so I could speed it up.... Yeah no. I'll have to try the warm water next time!
