1st drop and then there were 9 ......... 3rd drop, now there's 8 ....... 2nd Reel, heavy set-up ...... 4th drop ........... now there's 7 ....... MATTY !!!!!!!!! Pack MORE Jigs !!!!!!! Should call that Spot ...... Buffalo Graveyard !!!!! Absolute Beast of a BANGA !!!!!!
What worked for us in Vanuatu. One stays on the controls, the other jig. The moment he sticks a fish the boat needs to pull the fish as quickly as possible away from the structure, 30-50m to prevent him reefing you. Tight lines Screaming Reels, Hold on and enjoy the ride on the PE8 setups
Alli and I were watching and she's just shaking her head at the awesomeness of the size of everything down there bro!! Crazy man! Congratulations on setting goals and smashing them mate 🥰
CHALLENGE !!! Love the channel mate can't wait to get back to Airlie myself. Wondered if you've ever tried switching hands so you keep your strong (right) hand on the rod and REEL WITH LEFT? Watching you guys constantly switch hands when fighting big fish is nerve racking.😄 It took me about five trips out to get used to it and now it feels SO MUCH BETTER. (Especially when working smaller lures) I CHALLENGE YOU TO GIVE IT A TRY. 👍
I experienced that 3 yrs ago in Madagascar - 80lb braid, 6m x 200lb leader - 200g jigs, 70m depth. 37 ons between 6 of us, not 1 turned, all chaffed off the leader - not 1 the braid. Absolute brutes, but what an experience.
hi Mark. I' be at Togo for a year for business. I am planning to go fishing. I have a 80 lb popping rod and Twin power 8000 PG reel. is that enough for those fish? I! ve never experienced Atlantic ocean fishing and I have some concerns about my setup. Your advices are much appreciated
@@borasendil1383 I think 8000 too small - big Daiwa Dogfights or 18000/20000 for the big doggies. Otherwise ok for the rest. Not too sure of popping rod for the doggies - short jigging rod for them - unlikely to catch the doggies on the surface.
That was a massive GT, perfect :-) end of this week i'm fishing the outer Seychelles and hope the conditions fit to reach the deeper waters at the end of the Plateau. Got some additional motivation today from your movie ;-)
Epic session bro💯 and the bkk jacket in the biggining looks mint😎 it just go's to show that sometimes no matter how prepared you can be sometimes you just hook in to submarines that just leave you going back with only stories to tell🙈
Great vid as always matt, 🤘🤘🤘, mr RU-vid if your listening the adds are killing the content, almost unwatchable due to the constant stoppages 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
That was a session to remember. I know the strength of the gear you're using and for them to absolutely burn it was impressive. Those were massive fish...and now they have new, heavy lip rings.
Nice work Matty every dog has his day … at some point 😂 doggies are still my number one dream fish to catch wouldn’t care how big congrats on finally making it to the shelf!
Hey mate some epic fishing in you videos! Just wanted to ask how you go with the higher gear ratio reels vs the low gear ratio reel for vertical jigging? Im tossing up between a 10000 low gear (4.9) vs the 14000 high gear (6.2)
"fuck off shark" Truer works have never been spoken. We saw a boat next to use loose a nice red snapper right at the top yesterday to a shark. Luckily they got back their jig and a tiny bit of snapper head.
Ive just setup an ocean’s legacy pe 6 deep element shimano saragosa 18000 (22kg drag), pe6 braid and 200lb leader for this kind of stuff. Lost too much gear in the past on unstoppable fish like this.
Matty stoked asf just watching let alone doing that kinda mission and that fishing epic epic epic shit dogs pull hard hanging to see wat a big dog looks like from out there yeeewwww legend matty
Do you ever wire a lure to keep them from being bit off. We do it for toothy critters like wahoo so you don't have to pick up a second job to pay for all the lures that you loose.
