Jigjiga is always affected by war whether it is war between Ethiopia and Somalia, or Somalia and Kenya, or the assholes westerner to deny the development of Somalia Jigjiga is allways affected. Imagine there is peace in Somalia and Somalis use their sea resources maximum and you see how Jigjiga becomes the center of the economy.

So one thing I absolutely dislike about Ethiopia in general is the very bad and weak internet. In Jijiga now most people have WiFi in their homes and it works decently as I am told but getting fast and reliable internet (as we know it in the west) does not exist. I am told that that will be changing soon as the market will not be monopolized and will be open for more service providers so I am hopeful about that. But if you do plan to move there for good, I would strongly advice that you go there for 3 months first and see everything for yourself before making the big move inshallah. All the best sis. ❤️
