JIKOOK SHIPPER VS SUPPORTER 

I’m definitely a supporter. Fake photos and videos make me uncomfortable, and for Jikook they’re not even necessary. We can all enjoy this beautiful relationship without needing to make fake content! I love compilation videos of real content, though. I agree that we all need to keep in mind that these are *real* people and they should be respected as such. They don’t owe us anything, but if they choose to do a VLive or Tweet, I’m always grateful. And I trust Jikook’s bond. I don’t care who is sharing a car with whom, etc. All of that is superficial and ultimately unimportant. Just watch how they interact with each other - their smiles and eye contact. No analysis needed!

I identify as a supporter cause I don’t mind what their actual relationship is defined as, I support it as it is and will love and support them as they are, despite my personal wish for them to be together, but that’s what I would like, not what they are, cause I don’t know what they are. Supporting for me is healthy, respectful, caring about them as their happiness is what matters.

The difference is....I think...what people are trying to say is that....they see the obvious unedited videos n pics etc with jikook...[the shit that is right in front of your fuckin eyes]..and they form their opinions n thoughts off of those(I do) ...no one told me to ship them...I didn't even know about shipping in kpop groups...I was a new army...I just seen something so natural and beautiful VS the fanfics, 18+ fan art and edited pics...that they do with other "ships" most of it doesn't make sense and look like 16 year Olds made it.... fake made up interactions etc...its cringe...but I do enjoy some of this for jikook but the cute fanart and edits that make me emo... but most of it is cringe af...sick even... because it's fake and delusional and jikook don't need that weird BS.... Great video to explain and distinguish the two. Apologies for my long comment. For me, shipping/supporting (specifically involving same-sex pairs) is like a pyramid. The bottom level is those who see shipping in terms of platonic friendship or the enjoyment of particular pairings and units due to their visuals or chemistry. The middle level is those who see shipping in non-platonic or romantic terms and enjoy the fantasy and fiction of the activity, BUT don’t actually believe any of it. These two layers can also be divided between a) open-minded, tolerant people, b) people with such heteronormative thinking that the possibility of any idol being actually non-heterosexual isn’t even an consideration, and c) homophobes who enjoy (friend)shipping or romantic shipping but get defensive or insulted at the suggestion that idols may not be straight. The top layer, the smallest (remember the pyramid) but very vocal, are those who ship (and/or) support a romantic pairing as potentially or definitely real. This layer can get very contentious and conflict-heavy if pairings overlap. Because shipping can create miniature fandoms within the larger fandom, if there is conflict, it leaks out and starts to affect the general experience of the fandom. As such a stigma gathers around shipping, associating it with territorial politics, war, conspiracies, fetishization, delusional thinking - much of which can be very real and can quickly lead to untrue narratives, objectification, disrespect, anti- behavior and invasion of privacy. This could lead into general debates over the ethics of shipping real people as opposed to 100 percent fictional creations, however, most members regardless of where you fall in the pyramid, ship or support in peace, truly creative and completely harmless and delightful. I am definitely not a shipper and don't want to be a shipper as I said on Twitter, Facebook, and on those who make videos... I also don't believe in analyzing JM or JK. The word "analyzing" let me break it apart from the word in syllables because it is the same as "shipping". A.Na.lyz.ing which if you look at the breakdown, first two words ANAL and LYZ (lies) so it is one's theory of what they want to see. What I believe is in the truth... they already in a relationship... I just want us to support their relationship.
