First Lady Jill Biden's motorcade of US Secret Service vehicles, escorted by police, arrives at London Stansted airport. She departs with the US Air Force, following the Coronation of King Charles III.
First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, wife of President Joe Biden, represented the United States of America at the coronation.
The armored Chevrolet Suburbans that she travelled in were flown in by US Air Force C-17 Globemasters. She departed in a Boeing C-32 of the Special Air Mission, with a Counter Assault Team following in a police truck on the airfield.

I spoke to someone who saw them being driven away. Apparently the USAF prefer to do some of their own ground support for their VIP aircraft visits. The trucks collected a couple of self propelled air stairs (possibly Ford F250 based), some underwing engineering steps, a couple of aircraft ground power / starter units and a push back bar. They probably came from the twin USAF bases at Mildenhall & Lakenheath which are only an hour away and who use such equipment daily. So it was nothing security related that the trucks collected.

AF1 and AF2 do not queue in line; they have priority for take off and landing; usually (at least in the US) the airspace is shut down so no one takes off or lands once they (be it the President, VP, FLOTUS, SOS) enter the aircraft. If you notice, both Ryanair jets were still on the ground waiting when AF2 took off, the other Ryanair jet was about to take off when AF2 was taxiing to the runway.

Witnessed some spectacular departures from RAF Northolt Thursday afternoon after the aircraft that delivered the entourages of the "Also rans" departed. They departed eastwards, so presumably would have to manoeuvre hard to avoid traffic coming off the Bovingdon Stack into 28R at Heathrow. But one manoeuvre looked too extreme for just air traffic avoidance . . .more like a precautionary simulated missile avoidance climb. I've noticed a lot of other departures at earlier events have started doing this. Don't they trust the residents of North West London ?

I doubt it could with a transatlantic fuel load. It seemed to use about 2/3 of the 10,000 foot Stansted runway on take off, so Northolt with only 5500 foot runway would probably not be long enough. The USAF do use Northolt for C-17s and C-130s occasionally though. For the last few years USAF diplomatic flights tend to be routed into Stansted.

I counted three vehicles with US Government license plates, so they were probably headed to a different location (that could handle the Globemaster) for transport back to the States. The Euro-plated vehicles in the relatively small motorcade (I know of two US State Governors that rolled bigger than this) probably still had time on the clock before they turned into pumpkins, so 🤷🏽‍♂🤷🏽‍♂"Let's make the most of it, eh, mate!"

She’s not. AF1 isn’t a specific airplane. It’s just the call sign for any US Air Force plane that the president is physically on. The Secret Service just probably decided to use that plane. Usually the vice president uses it or they’ll use it for the president if the airport that he is flying into cannot handle a 747. When Trump was president, he would fly on that one whenever he went to his resort in New Jersey.

I think they were. Look at the license plates. Those are British license plates, not Washington DC license plates that the secret service normally uses.

@@thefivepoints Only two had washington D.C. plates, which seem reserved for the first lady and her team. The rest all had British plates, including the suburbans which seem to be diplomatic security service, belonging to the embassy.👍👍👍😊😊😊
