Brenda Dickinson played the role of villianess like nobody else could. She very seldom let Jill be vulnerable. I love Jess Walton.. but Brenda, was my girl.
Haha well stated 😂 well, just decided to edit, to actually answer the question, or implied question, things change most commonly not because they're better but just because you're supposed to move on to other things, and that's better😮... In other words, as in this case, I'm quite sure neither I nor anyone else would appreciate Terry and Brenda as much if they had had continued in these roles forever... As it is however, it is utterly poignant not just bittersweet and not just nostalgic, to see scenes like this, and thereby a kind of inspiration in the tragic truth of the unattainability of what is gone
Jess made Jill her own but despite how good an actor Peter is, he just cannot compare with Terry Lester. Terry is like Tony Geary, Erica Slezak, Genie Francis... one of the irreplaceable greats.
I agree and do like Jess Walton but she has never been as sadistic, demonic, twisted or evil as Brenda Dickerson's original portrayal. She was a HUGE character in the 80's on this show, back when the soaps were psychological thrillers unlike today.
Mr’s Chancellor, Jill, Jack, John and Victor (in that order) were the stars of the show in the mid 80’s that had great chemistry and storylines which kept you coming back for more, now it’s become ‘Y&R Starring The Newmans’
BD as Jill was the Erika Cane of Y&R, I stopped watching the show for many years after she left. She made me LOL a lot with Mrs. Chancellor. She was what Erika wasn't very conniving... Its a shame what the network did to her..

Finally! Someone else who thinks the exact same thing as me. That would've been something to see, oozing sex appeal and see Terry's Jack and Phyllis turn Genoa City upside down as a couple, I'd like to have seen them give Victor and Nikki a run for their money.
Not knocking Peter at all, but Terrys version always rocked. Dude was dashing, smug, menacing, charming, and a tactician. He and Eric were equals. Wish both he and Brenda had stayed. They really were the perfect daytime version of Abbey n JR. 😊
