Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Lots of jobs to do after harvest is done. Tillage kicks into high gear. Replacing those knives on Jim’s machine can’t be cheap. Those are heavy duty steel knives. Wow. Amazing how they have worn down. Glad to hear your new building is about here. Will be nice to see it going up. Glad you are going to help a farmer in need. Important to do that. Best wishes to your dad and his surgery on his wrist. Take care dad. Speedy recovery. My blessings. All for now. You take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. Thanks to Becky for her video work. The Iowa farm boy.

It's a good soil naturally runs down the hill to the bottom wouldn't it be prudent to pull it up towards the top again instead of letting it wash away? You have to dispose of that disc, you might want to consider welding the hole in the center and make a Wok out of it. They hold the heat nice and cook really well. Might want to be careful with those loose nuts. If those anchor bolts were installed mechanically (drilled into concrete and used some type of adhesive or other) and not cast in place with the slab, you may have failed anchors the whole way around your bin which led to the looseness of the nuts. Hardface weld the first two inches of chisel in a cover pass, they last three times as long. Something like a Forney 42405, the rod is about 250 bucks for 50lbs so itll last several seasons even on hard dirt. Do not weld the sweep, leave it be, just the first 2 inches or so of chisel shank. single surface pass is all you need. You can repeat the weld as it wears if you like. The rockwell hardness is mid high 50s with the hardfacing, thats going to be fantastic considering the shanks are mid 40s.

I’ve probably missed something here, but when my uncle Robert LEBO was finished with his crops. He would plant His fields with a cover crop. Both to prevent erosion and to provide Nitrogen for the soil in the spring. Is there a reason why you don’t do this practice. When you are done with your harvest?? Does that have to do with the fact that you have Snow ⛄️ Before the rest of the country does. So that a cover crop would be a waste of time planting. How do you get more nutrients into your soil or organic matter to improve your soil conditions??
