I love that now Dennis is the guy getting shots in on Opie. Dennis insulting him, Anthony in the studio, Opie jobless. It’s great. I was so disappointed in 2014-15 when it had appeared Opie “won”. He had Jimmy, Ant was gone. He was so happy. So to see him lose so drastically is great. He totally deserves it. That’s what having no talent and a massive ego can do. In 3 years he undid 20 years of coasting off other people’s talent.

Anthony set the tone for everyone. By putting up with Opie as opposed to confronting him, the show lasted longer. I always thought Patrice O’Neal, had he lived, would’ve prevented the break up with his honesty. Patrice would’ve put them both in their place. And Opie would have had to take it because banning Patrice would be career suicide.

I'll never forget the day i learned that we all hated opie together. I thought i was the only one. It took the break up of O&A to see everyone's true opinions come out. I love opie. I really do. But his sickness ruined so much and made everything after him so much better. RIP OP

In all seriousness, the only thing that makes me feel bad about despising Opie, is the fact that he's obviously so mentally ill. If you listen to Opie describing how crazy his mother was, every single thing applies to HIM. He's the male version of her. God only knows what goes on with him at home but it can't be good. Opie was able to hide out in a hugely successful radio show and millions of dollars for a lot of years, and now that it's all gone, he's coming apart at the seams.

The O&A show can easily be explained with the three Corleones. Anthony is Sonny, the hot-headed guy who everyone loved that got whacked first. Jimmy, the tactical one who dodged a bullet many times, is Michael. And then there is Gregg. The Fredo of the three. When Ant went down, he thought he was going to be the Don and instead he was eventually passed over. 😅

It's time to bring back the Opstar ! Who cares if he got fired for a racist twitter rant ? His deeply educated insights and intricately detailed impressions made him a comedy genius of our modern era . Some people will bash Anthony for being a so called "Hack" , though , he never claimed or really tried being a funny guy .Ant's mostly criticized for his many failed attempts of dishing out the same great humor that Opes,Patrice,Norton ,Burr Etc would bring to the the table . First off, Jimmy’s face on the already distorted Opie body in that picture is extremely disturbing lol. Anyways... The AA Show with Artie was such a wasted/missed opportunity. That concept had all the opportunity possible of being great seeing as you’re talking about 2 of the funniest men on the planet co-hosting together and had such huge potential from the start. I wish we could have seen what the show was like 2 years in when A&A would have expectedly hit their groove’s together instead of getting 6 or 8 or whatever paltry number of episodes we got (some of which Artie was already absent from) before Ant was forced to pull the plug because - you know - reasons. Reasons which those in the know hoped wouldn’t be a hindrance - alas... we know what happened...

If they called Opie out on the radio there would be no show. Opie would have a fit and quit. Ant and Jim had their entire careers tied to the Opie and Anthony name. If you lose the name then out goes the possibility of new listeners because they heard about Opie and Anthony. Then you have to look at it from a legal stand. Also, we don't truly know how much control Opie really had. Opie always said 50/50 but with his ego and lying I wouldn't trust that.

thekid12390 no they weren’t. Are you insane? They were scared to make their own show? You have to look at it from a business stand point. It’s always about trying to bring in new listeners and advertisers to sirius. Sure the fans will always find the new show if they separated. However, there had to be something legally and/or financially from stopping them from splitting with Opie.

+shanustheanus ok then I would have enjoyed it if they had been honest about their relationship. Instead every time fans brought up the fact that it was obvious they didn't have a good relationship they laughed and acted like it was a crazy claim. I liked the few times the truth did come out like the grape fight. The Stern fights were always classic and there was a lot of them.
