Yeah, my Mom would keep the TV on TBN 24/7 and I always remember various times during the year they would have "praise a thon's" Where they were just trying to get money from people, and they would have various "prophets" and "Bishops" and "Prophetesses" on the channel where they just talked about giving money....(shouting about giving money) guys like TD Jakes were regulars telling people to give their last dollar and that if they did Good would give it back to you plus a lot more....lots of scripture taken out of context as they went....asking people to pledge $1000 and put it on a credit card if they don't have the money.... Causing people to go broke...pretty sad....
Back in the mid 80s, PTL was the biggest thing on television. I'm surprised people haven't learned a lesson from Jim Baker to avoid the prosperity gospel, but it pretty much reveals why people tune into others like Joel Osteen.
The prosperity gospel movement will always be popular as long as there are self-centered, narcissists in the world that call themselves Christians. Modern Christianity is overrun by these apostates.
Some ppl have a spirit of discernment some don't, but if you've been listening to someone who is one min "this" and the next min "that", then that's a tell. God is the foundation and he never leaves us. No one with him should be changing the word to keep up with trends or the times.

I know it is illegal to make medical claims about products, but I can say silver does kill bugs. My father was treated for months in a hospital for a leg wound. Every other day a new silver infused badge was put on his wound. If silver doesn't do something why do hospitals use it?

I'm in the medical field . Silver is used in many things now as it has multiple anti microbial properties. Nano silver is safer than colloidal silver if taken internally. No, its not been tested by the FDA so they cant say it does anything but they also cant say it doesnt help either. I personally take it when I think im coming down with any type of illness initially and it has helped me each time to feel better, no side effects for me personally. There are many places that sell it now as a holistic supplement. But as with anything there are always possible side effects like every medication the FDA does approve , those have a risk of multiple side effects too. I personally think the FDA doesnt want to do a clinical study because it would probably put some drug makers out of business.

Thank you so much for this video, it has filled in a lot of my childhood head scratchers... One set of my grandparents were friends/supporters of Jim B and the other set of my grandparents worked briefly for him (until they started figuring out the truth behind the scenes- confronted him about it and when they saw no change, left). According to what I've heard from my grandparents, Tammy was legit, the fraud rested on Jims shoulders. The people he hurt /his victims, are also his employees and their families. My grandparents that worked for him, had been devout church attendees until they left his ministry, then their trust was broken and they became infrequent attendees, which affected their household... The crazy thing is that history could easily repeat itself- I grew up mostly around the side of family that left his ministry and when asked about it, their answer was often "if you dont have anything nice to say...dont say anything at all" and they'd leave it at that... But now he is on tv again and my curiosity has drawn me into watching his show. Praise God, I am a regular attendee of a solid church (and many of my fav RU-vid pastor's are yours as well. Saw Voddie Baucham speak in person once and he now tops on my list!) and know enough to turn these shows off, or I could easily be drawn in and start the cycle over. Parents, we need to teach our kids the truth! We cant stand behind these false sayings- Paul named names in the Bible and called out false teachers, we need to protect others by doing the same!
Tammy was a beautiful person. At the end of her life she was reaching out to everyone. That woman killed them with kindness. I think she learned from her mistakes even if Jim didn't.

@@b.goodfellow465 i know you want to believe that but please note a) this applies to end times, b) the context is signs and wonders to deceive, and c) the Greek "if" neither denies impossibility nor is it external; it is passive meaning that the person is deceived by themselves (following those doing the signs). Matthew 24:4 reinforces this and commands us to not ALLOW ourselves to be deceived. Similar warnings exist throughout scripture. Consider also: Acts 20:28-30 (flock not spared), 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (people knowing truth turning to myths), 2 Peter 3:14-18 (fall from secure position), all of 2 Peter 2 (people returning to their lives). Yes God will help (and thank God for that), but God does not suspend our ability to choose. We can choose to leave God or follow false teachers and doctrine; to listen to the Holy Spirit or reject where He leads. Commit yourself to listening to and following the Holy Spirit and you WILL be fine. in Him
When I was 20, my 18 year old brother dubbed him Jim Faker! That was over four decades ago! The man, along with his wife, who started the church I attended for years in my hometown worked with Jim and Tammy at PTL. Years later, he left his wife with whom he had a son and daughter, to pursue a homosexual relationship. In recent years, my daughter-in-love counseled Jim’s daughter at Teen Challenge!

The man of whom I’m speaking, who started the now defunct church after forty years, who was on air with his wife and the Bakers at PTL, prayed for me to receive the Holy Spirit in his home four decades ago. He and his wife would dress to the nines simply to shop at our local mall, his wife in all black while he wore a mink coat that reached the floor. Anyway, sadly he died in his sixties while living with his male partner.
After prison he was at the la. Dream center doing Bible studies during lunchtime at the Time he was warning of Y2K the format at the time is very similar to how his current show works. At the time I was newly converted and sat in those Bible studies they were confusing to say the least.

I remember those times, seems like a long time ago, when tammy faye started crying for money with mascara running. Somehow they had people showing up, sitting along side them, endorsing them. I thought some of their guests were respectable Christians, so I thought: Was it the love of money? Or just a bad choice to be there? Obviously deceiving.
Jack Van Impe, Hal Lindsey, I thank God for those shows but TBN as a whole just never sat right with my spirit even as a kid seemed so fake. Looking back many times God has looked out for me and I didn't even know it... he knows who is genuinely seeking him and who isn't I truly believe that I'm a living testimony of it

Dear Polite Leader, may our Lord bless your posts. For me, I think Joseph Prince to be the most dangerous of false preachers. He is very subtle and appears to lead to Christ in his teachings. However, they are short on confession of sins and the ensuing repentant hearts. His messages to ‘believers’ seem to be on easy living in Christ since He had done every thing necessary them in salvation and eternal life in Him. Prince’s focus does not point to God’s true plan and desire but primarily to the individual’s wants and wishes in this world. Has he ever dealt with self examination if one is born again? I may be wrong with my assessment of him. But I was very uncomfortable with his preaching the first time I heard him speak.
There are some things I agree with... But that was the past, he is different now in my opinion. My mom always watches him and I hear it in the background. He asks for money but doesn't force it on you, other preachers say that if you don't give us money something will or will not happen. Yes, he did things that were bad but we must remember we are sinners as well. He did predict somethings in 2020 that happened but yet it does say in the Bible there will be false prophets performing many things. That's just my opinion
