I met Jim once. I was fifteen and me and my mate had been busking with our guitars about the place and someone got us on his show last minute on Radio Lancashire. My lasting memory was him telling me, when I nervously tried to get my headphones off afterwards..."don't pull em that way ya daft bugger you'll pull your bloody head off" 🤣🤣 rip Jim.
I was there. The dart hit wire of the 25/bull...the posh guy was an idiot because he could have gone left hand send on his second dart..the whole audience were quietly happy ....the gasp was funny.. Jim Bowen is TV , funniest man ever...
B.F.H...Bowen Folk Hero, many fond memories growing up to Bullseye, seek out his book "From a bundle of rags" great read indeed, Respect to the Lancashire Legend. R.I.P good Sir, you live on Eternal.🎯🎯🎯🎯
Me and my brother were in Birmingham one afternoon for a concert..Walking past the Central television studio's and Jim Bowen comes walking out,Instantly me and my bro went into classic Jim Bowen impersonating...smashing,super great..you can't beat a bit of bully and all that.....I swear to this day if he had a gun he would of shot us both, face like thunder. must of been sick of hearing that everyday of his life....lol happy days.
Saw Jim tell this story at a Bullseye roadshow years ago. Very funny and apparently they had to dub sound on to the shots of the audience because they were cheering and laughing so much when the idiot contestant lost.
Went to see Superman IV: The Quest For Peace with me Nan for me 9th birthday. Up in Scarborough, I were dead excited, just as we sat down, there’s a right kerfuffle, only Jim Bleedin Bowen, sat beside us. Tearing into a Choc Ice. My Nan who loved Jim, tapped his arm and said “Big Fan” Jim said “ ‘ho me or Superman” Me Nan said “you silly” and as true as God’s my judge Jim said in a menacing voice. “Chuffing better be of I’ll stick this choc ice stick in that kids eye bulb, now Sod Off”
I’m surprised I haven’t seen that episode,I thought I’d seen them all. What a show, spent many a Sunday afternoon watching bullseye 🎯. Can anyone find that episode?? The climax was always the shite prizes. Still very entertaining though 👍👍👍.
It either didn't happen or the episode was never shown. If an audience really did react like that towards contestants I don't think they would have dared show it.
@@Wally-H It might be in an archive in Birmingham somewhere. Some poor bugger had to go through about 200 episodes on VHS looking to see if they could spot the serial killer who'd made an appearance on the show some time in the mid to late 80s. Helped to catch him and all. I would say you can't beat a bit of bully but that would be in very poor taste.
@@Nealson454 There is an hilarious Bullseye story in here when Jim talks about the programme with the 2 Irishmen from Belfast.:) I have just watched it on RU-vid..
I thought jim bowen was about 70 back in the early 1980s, is this really him, I was convinced he died about 25 years ago, I'm sure I remember it being mentioned on the TV.
Galaxy Tab That is indeed the legendary Jim Bowen, he is 80 now. In 1981, when he made his bullseye debut, he was 43 years old. His hair just grew prematurely grey and that his glasses made him looked older than he actually was. The man is a warrior and a legend having overcome two strokes.
sounds like a load of horseshit, jim was famous for embellishing, love to see the ep if true, though when he says they lost 12 grand u know for a fact that part was bull(y)
