If someone told me i'd won a prize id never entered and it's to "spend a day in a bar with any movie star, who would it be?" I know already it would be Jimmothy Kerry, wee james k, the J Man, the guy in the mirror, Mr Kery, but to our senses, after migration from Ireland, all we have to describe it as the character the world has assigned and given unto us as Mr. Jim Carrey!! Ive never seen the mask, dumb and dumber, bruce almighty, liar, liar etc etc But Ive watched his speeches and seen his impressions and so many funny clips, his speeches touch people. We all want what we cant have. Jim Carrey has been us too, its ok to want cars and mansions and big wealth but these are material. What really counts is that we lose our fear and stop trying to be seen as something the world sees as success. Because youl end up acting a part and smiling while going home unhappy. And whoever you are, you hide and just conform to be accepted.

The reason The Mask was originally supposed to a horror movie is because in the comics it's not pleasant when someone puts on the mask. It's vengeance driven and quite gruesome. There is some comedy and cartoonish antics but they almost always end with a mess, the bloody kind. That's a Mask movie I still want to see but what we got was pretty damn awesome too.

Who is the king of comedy? Carrey isn't by any means close, he is for the most part the court Jester. He has talent but it seems he has never developed the skills like say .. Jerry Lewis, Jack Benny and many many many others. Just looking back at those early SNL players, the first and second generation - he doesn't come up to the standards they set or skill level they had. Good but no king.

Must be nice. I’m a 68 yo disabled veteran and former Corporate Pilot who got screwed out of a pension by the company I worked for because I was grounded by the FAA Aviation Medical Examiner at the age of 58 due to paralysis. Now I live in a broken down motorhome with no electric or running water. America is great for comics and actors. Bravo Jim.
