Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine as well. He was insanely good as a pure acting talent in both. Both movies made me realize that he was more than just a great comedian but he was a truly great actor as well.
This legend is robbed of so many oscar awards. Man On The Moon, Truman Show, even Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. He hit it right on the nail with his answer about the oscars though. "i dont think actors need that" he doesnt think actors need validation is what hes saying. He said it'd be nice to win an Oscar but hes okay with just making a good film in general because hes always been a very artsy-fartsy guy when it comes to acting if you pay attention to his interviews... As long as he knows he did a good performance thats all that matters.
This's a really lovely interveiw. You can tell how deep of a person Jim is and always been. He's just very true person to himself and the world around him.
Jim had a gift of humor that he shared with the world. He paid attention and I feel he felt so good inside that the people loved what he did. Yes a bit of a sabbatical right now but he will be back even if we have to drag him back...lol
I wouldn't get too hung up on the Oscars. There are a lot of politics involved- he should have been nominated for Man on the Moon but the film flopped which generally tarnish your chances. Please keep in mind there are exceptions but I'm talking in general terms the commercial success of the film has a influence.
@@davcar3568 It took forever for Leo Dicaprio to get an oscar. And one of the greatest film makers of all time - Alfred Hitchcock - NEVER received an oscar. Not even posthumously.
I agree. Just watched a bunch of different interviews, but this one felt really real, you know what I mean? Such honest genuine conversations are quite rare tbh.
Its incredible the conicidenses between the cable guy and truman show. Both talking about TV, the trash TV, and in the end, disconnecting both the most watched program. The Cable Guy is underrated, the sutilness of the program with Ben Stiller, always there but without anything to do with the movie only until the end and many other things
I love how drawn back he seems in this interview… Like in a lot of his newer ones and ones for movies it sort of feels like he's playing a character, but this feels like you're just talking to him, really just him
Can we get a second part to the Truman show! I love all his movies but the Truman show has a real message in it that touches all ethnicity of all types ppl and I know it is hard to keep comedy flowing thru a movie with such a deep deep meaning. But Jim carry did it. And every one made the show. What I mean is Jim didn't hog up the spotlight bc he was the Maine character.
I'll never forget Christmas day opening my present from my mom and it was a vhs tape of the Truman show. I thought oh no Jim Carrey has gone into serious movies. Anyway i watched it christmas day and i didn't like it i hated it then i watched it again and i got it. it's probably his best performance. It's actually a masterpiece of film and ive watched it countless times since. jim is a true talent hes movies make you laugh cry and think about the bubble we live in. he made my childhood so much more fun.
Jim carrey, you are special, May Allah blessings and honour be upon you and your family for your hard efforts to help us children of Adam ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa- ala ālihi wa-sallam
@@alexpollock6932 Canadian??? What the hell are you talking about? Since when are Canada a Muslim country and since when are Muslims Commies? You really are confused, or extremely ignorant, aren't you?
His early movies paved the way for Carrey to prove the old dictum that the best actor is whomever can be both a comedian and a drama actor: who else could have played Truman in "The Truman Show"?
Then you played cable man or what was it called, interviewers have got a lot better but hell with that, im making his show better and he doesn’t know what my movies called, maybe im over reacting but I’d think this is a fake interview
I don't get Charlie Rose on here he probably got paid millions of dollars to do his doesn't he do his research before doing the interview he says 1944 instead of 1994 then he calls Jim Carrey's movie cable man he doesn't even know the title of the movie 🙄
At least for a minor role. It will be a dream casting and pairing. Because we now know that next QT movie will be again in some kind of a movie world (Movie Critic in the 1970s), it could happen. I hope so 🤞
YES MAN is perfect, but I want to se again Thrumann Show ! Why I cant find this ? Jim...I now is special movie, really avesome !
Widzę wrażliwość, smutek i tęsknotę. Widzę Człowieka, który boryka się z życiem. Jim ALL THE BEST for CHRISTMAS !
