When Jim talked about dropping their ass on someone and hurting them I immediately thought of Mabel in that dreadful match with Diesel back in 95. Nash has said he asked Mabel not to do that because he was having back issues, and he hurt Nash so bad Vince was on the verge of firing Mabel as soon as the match ended.

It's only in wrestling that you see the younger guys who clearly aren't pulling the same numbers as the older ones argue on how to work. Can't imagine a young actor arguing with scorcese, Denzel etc.

You can say what you want about her working style. But she is pretty.

Athena is a symptom, not the cause. From the beginning, AEW established an unsafe working environment. If AEW manufactured cars, they would be built without seat belts, brakes, air bags and a steering wheel would be optional.

When the dude who trained you, who is of the same race as you calls you up to check yourself and instead you double down you know you messed up.

She was stiff but safe in NXT, very athletic and one of the best female performers there. Even on the main roster she didn't have a bad reputation. She has seemingly regressed in her abilities since she's been in AEW. And she's not the only one, I feel the same about Ethan Page, Allie or Kiera Hogan in TNA and in AEW, about Keith Lee in WWE and AEW, and the little I saw of Adam Cole wasn't as good as it was in NXT either. I don't know if it's because in AEW they feel like they need to do more, or the pace is different or they need to hit harder or what the problem is but something is going on.

AEW Rampage got 300,000 viewers recently. That's enough proof that no one gives a damn anymore, and wrestling is a shadow of it's former self. No one is watching these people. They're not stars, they're placeholders. They're there simply to be there because someone has to be. If these wrestlers were any good, you'd want to see them next week. I don't. You don't. The numbers reflect this. 300,000 viewers. Terrible.

To play devils advocate a little bit, I do understand what Athena is going for, and YES I do want the girls to hit harder. But it shouldn't be sloppy. Some of these matches make me wonder if they've practiced together at all and it's part and parcel with my problem about why so many women's matches go through the motions, but lack chemistry

this just sounds like another case of someone not wanting to listen and accept criticism. the fact that the agents/producers in the back of AEW when that particular match happened approached her and the jobber itself demonstrates that people were concerned inside the company. also, i have a feeling Athena believes she's smarter than she really is when it comes to the business. but as far as working stiff, etc. i think it wouldn't be as much of an issue if AEW wasn't a train wreck type of company where they have frequent injuries. right now, the people in that company need to work smarter because those matches aren't selling tickets for sure.

That job girl from Canada was probably used to working stiff matches, Athena was just playing her role as the heel since the girl from Canada was a favorite being that it was her home country. If the girl that was working thought Athena was so reckless with her she wouldn't have raised Athena hand after that match and hugged her, she would have stormed out of the ring looking upset. Athena kinda is right, what if a male wrestler that went stiff and it looked reckless on a job guy or somebody than you guys would have been making excuses that the job guy probably messed up a spot, the job guy wasn't doing this or that right. You know you would.

Athena is pretty and how often do we hear about so and so in the territory days working snug and these two guys stroking it over “shooters” that took liberties with a guy in the ring once they had them on the ground or a in a hold the other let them apply.

So not only do they not listen to advice, they have zero self awareness. And to think at one point I was excited for another promotion....... The talent there seem to be doing everything to make Tony have a nervous breakdown.

She brings up Moxley who while yes he does do stupid stunts also has some of the worst punches of any main event talent ever outside of Shane McMahon.

Athena would do well to take a leaf from Dax Harwood's book.

Working stiff is one thing but if you're doing it and putting your opponent in danger then you're nothing but a liability.

This highlights one of my biggest problems with modern wrestlers they think they know everything and anytime someone with actual knowledge and experience in the wrestling business criticises them or even tries to offer them advice on how they can improve they take it as a personal attack against them instead of thinking hey they've been doing this for much longer and have been much more successful at it maybe I should listen to what they have to say and actually try to improve but instead all you get from them is what do all these old timers who made far more money and drew far bigger crowds than anyone today ever could what do they know. The biggest problem in AEW is lack of leadership you've got a boss who doesn't know what he's doing and who nobody respects and you've got a roster that's so arrogant that even when they've got people with decades of experience to learn from they refuse because obviously they're doing so well as you can see by the constantly falling ratings.

I honestly haven't seen the magic in Athena. I was following her through NXT as Ember Moon, SO GLAD she didn't take Asuka's streak, Athena did lil' to nothing wit that NXT title. & the fact the main roster had nothing for her, but could shoot Bianca to the moon, though she's a trackstar & not an indie wrestler, shows how valuable somoeone like Bianca can be and how Athena needs iMPaCT! to really develop her character on TV.
