The problem isn't Jim Cornette. The problem is people who want to force him to like matches he doesn't like and wrestlers he doesn't like. Stop sending him clips, emails etc and he probably won't even mention Kenny Omega and guess what? Its alright to not like Kenny Omega.

I agree on Japanese wrestling, went to an wrestle event, there were good matches, but there was a match with the Jonusu brothers and there 20 finishers and they were not selling it, at that point i had enough and left.

Extremely loyal follower of you, Jim...love your shows. I've been watching you since I was a child. I'm 44 now. Nothing ever will be as good as it once was. Same goes for music, movies and especially pro wrestling. Today's talent will never compare to the Flairs, Brodys, and Hansens of the Golden era. It was a different time, a totally different business and mentality. Now it's a big merch selling, sponsored corporate machine and besides the indies and NJPW, there's only one show in town to work for, sadly. There was some really abysmal characters and angles in the WWF in the late 80's and early-mid 90's...I'm sure many of the guys hated having to do some of the things they were asked to do. Now as for your hate for Omega...Kenny Omega did his job when asked to do the goofy shit with the doll and again with the match with the 9 year old...it was years ago though...he's transformed himself into a much more well-rounded performer since then. He's been on a phenomenal run and has made a name for himself and I'd agree that he's gotta be one of the most sought after guys in pro wrestling. Give him another look without condemning him for things he did ages ago. He's a fan of yours and has said it countless times. love your show & political commentary! I'm 21 so as a young wrestling fan I guess I fall into the age range of fans that like that hokey silly stupid shit yet I don't I definitely agree with Jim I don't wanna see pro wrestler making an ass of himself and the business wrestling a blow up doll or a little girl if I was in the crowd and saw that shit I would've raised all hell till I got my money back

It's more the fact that the business is not as healthy as it used to be in Japan and North America. Wrestling is cyclical, it's goes through high points and low points... we're still in a low point because of all the hot shotting and exposing of the business in the late-90s, it was the highest point of all time that has been followed by probably the lowest point of all time. There's the ease of access due to the internet for people to be able to watch nearly anything they want from the past, that has become a smart venture for WWE and New Japan with their subscription services but otherwise, no, wrestling just doesn't draw at the box office like it used to. The only people who stick around are the core wrestling fans who just love the business and can't get enough but within that group, you do have a lot of dumbshits who aren't as "smart" as they think they are so you can't get everyone on the same page to back an ideal or philosophy of wrestling that we can put out there to present to the casual marks as respectable or widely entertaining. Yes, everyone knows it's fake, but you still have to show some respect to what traces of kayfabe are left. It's illusionary performance art that's supposed to be presenting a believable simulation of a real fight between two individuals we're told hate each other's fuckin' guts. Once in a while someone still gets it right but otherwise, it's treated like a hokey soap opera with cartoon characters and/or it's a bunch of 5 foot tall midgets that no-sell everything and just move from one meaningless flippy floppy high spot to another... and/or it's fuckheads like Joey Ryan with comedy spots and skits that are just fucking embarrassing for everyone involved, including the audience. Endorsing this bullshit is just making the next high point for the business take that much longer to happen because it looks like a sorry pitiful joke that's only digging that hole deeper.

Cornette sounds like a mark when it comes to politics, but he is right about wrestling. I saw a "spontaneous" dance contest break out on wildcat wrestling the other day in a 6 man tag match with Matt Striker the other day and I can still get douche chills to come up on my arm if I think about it. It is obviously something that is being scripted by writers who were never in a real fight, so their only point of reference is West Side Story.

I agree with what Brian Last said 100 %. Joey Ryan is the one that needs to be the focus of Cornys rants. Omega was young when he did his dumb shit and we've all done stupid shit when we were young. Ryan however is constantly doing his b.s. and dragging real good talents like Cody down to his level of disrepect for all that came before.

So he puts asses in seats, he moves merchandise, and he, by your own admission, has fans behind him. What exactly is Kenny Omega not doing, right now, that he's supposed to be doing?!

I'm surprised that in 20 minutes he didn't mention that Kenny Omega isn't a good worker, but he's an incredible WRESTLER. As a smart fan I can still enjoy a good match and storyline. But as jim has said many times "wrestling should appear as a real fight". Dance contents mid match, invisible grenades and dick tosses do not happen in real fights. (Just for those that have no idea ). The secrets of kayfabe have been revealed but on tv, twitter, autograph signings and other things they should remain in kayfabe to a certain degree. Travelling together from house show to house show is another thing but going out after a match together to drink is too much unless they remain in kayfabe giving barroom promos from opposite side of the room. Too bad mid level talent as best use twitter to boost their popularity by revealing in biz secrets and storylines. They use stupid dick tosses and other gimmicks for a small percentage of fans. Wrestling is losing numbers of fans and only gaining a small percent. At the end they may have 30 percent of what they could but that 30 percent will buy whatever shite is being sold. Yes very similar to the trump movement.

I've seen Omega get a great match out of Toru-fucking-Yano. Cornette has NO point about him. Absolutely none. He just calls him a "video game wrestler" without even TRYING to point out why that is. Look, he has legitimate critique of him, but, for fucks sakes, he has more than redeemed himself by having amazing matches that are, by the way, TREATED 100% LIKE A SHOOT (Him vs Ishii NJCUP, him vs Okada at dominion, him vs Naito G1 26, etc. etc.). His promo-work with New Japan is some of the best in the business right now and he's done more PR Work for NJPW than NJPW could ever have asked him. HE IS THE ENTIRE REASON NJPW WAS ABLE TO HOLD AND SELL OUT AN AUTHENTIC SHOW IN THE USA. Cornette, if you can't see how good this guy is for business, you're blind, ignorant and egocentric.

Kenny Omega has been having the best matches in the world over the past couple of years, he is leading NJPW's first foray into the American wrestling market, workers big and small have gushed about wanting to work with him, Steve Austin himself says he could be the biggest thing in wrestling EVER. Meanwhile Jim complains about a single spot in a match from years ago like it was Katie Vick. This is starting to get pretty sad, Jim.
