IMHO, the reason why the DDT worked so well was the set up move: the short clothesline...

I think the Ultimate Warrior's belly splash was the worst finisher ever. Especially for a man with that much power and electricity, he should have had a way more better finisher than that

I always hated the Canadian Destroyer because even when it’s done right it still looks the both opponents are working together.

I liked the Even Flow DDT. It is the coolest move in wCw/NWO:Revenge.

Rock beat Hogan with the People’s Elbow. I remember being in high school and talking about Rock’s elbow. We concluded that the rationale behind it was like a heart punch, which is why he took off the pad. Made as much sense of it as we possibly could.

The superman punch is terrible

When Sgt Slaughter used a noogie

My favorite submission hold is and will always be the Sharpshooter/Scorpion Deathlock. But it's atrocious when performed by someone who doesn't know how to pull it off. The Rock's is probably the worst version of that.

Worse finisher... Edge's spear. He's too thin to spear. Rhyno and goldberg had better spears.

One finisher you never see anymore is the "Brain Buster"

the mick foley double arm ddt is my favorite. definitely an underrated finisher because of mr sockos understandable novelty and popularity. easy to pull off, relatively safe, and the double underhooks enable you to have a pedigree like spot where you can take your time to communicate to the audience that the move is going to be devastating. it can also be pulled out in an instant without build up and theatrics like a superkick, stunner or rko. and the many times we saw mick's huge frame dropping on canvass or concrete while executing the move makes it iconic.

You can call The People's Elbow stupid or whatever, but it was the most over move in the business for a while.

One of my favorite finisher Angle. Was when disco inferno had supposedly learned a new submission move. Then in the match he would forget how to put it on. Which always ended up costing him the match. Eventually he even brought a cheat sheet into the ring.

The Rock's spinning DDT was awesome.

Worst FINISHER? Hands down, the "Bayley to belly."

best finisher? Tombstone piledriver . It always had this awful sense of finality. worst finisher? ultimate warrior's big splash. I know it was over, but it was just him diving on top of a guy.

I know It’s a variation of the diamond cutter which itself is a great finishing move but I’ve always been a fan of the RKO plus Randy Orton being one of the top performers in recent years also helps.

Rock definitely used the People’s Elbow as a finish. It would get interrupted a lot because of how drawn-out it is, but if (when) he could manage to fully perform the move that would be the finish. The Rock Bottom frequently came out of nowhere as a reversal.

Worst procedure leading to a finish: The Worm. The very worst. We all know this to be true.

Those of us who go back as far as the early 70's remember a submission hold used by Lord Alfred Hayes (or as he was billed at the time Lord Al Hays) called the Tower Of London. He could actually make it look like he was going to rip your leg off from the hip.

Worst: Overdrive. I know Cornette didn't watch wwe at all in the early to mid 2000's. But the Overdrive is the shittiest move.

I loved THE RACK! Seeing HOLLYWOOD tap out( first real defeat of Hollywood) to Lugers Rack was AWESOME!

People's elbow was in fact one of Rock's finishing moves. It looked like shit, especially in the beginning when he set it up with just a scoop slam. But once he paired it with either the Rock Bottom or a spinebuster, it looked way cooler. Still silly in terms of damage, but it looked a tad more believable as a cherry on top kind of move.

If the Rock bottom wasnt the Rock's finisher then the leg drop wasn't Hogan's, it was the big boot

I remember when I was a kid in out silly backyard wrestling fed. The guy who filmed it told me not to use my version of the DDT which was the Edge implant DDT cause everyone was using a different version of the DDT. I took to using the TKO, which to this day I think is a cool move and it's not used enough. Basically an F5 crossed with a diamond cutter

Any finishers with drawn out theatrical shit , people's elbow ,five knuckle shuffle,the worm, road dogs garbage , every move that last more then obvious recovery time is bullshit

I loved Gangrel's Impaler DDT. Worst finisher is Cena's stfu, he never locks it in good at all.

For the most protected, have to go with the Razor''s edge, as no one ever kicked out of it in his career. for most believable, gotta go with Jake's DDT or the Perfect Plex, Curt had this way of timing it, where he'd do it right after his opponent started to look really gassed, made it a damn event if someone were to lock out of it. As for the worst, as someone just reminded me that it was a thing, was The Overdrive by Randy Orton, it looked like a version of the fameasser that was modified so the guy taking it would avoid taking any damage whatsoever from it. Honorable mention goes to the superkick. Even Yokozuna could pull it off, and everyone and their grandmother kicked out of it

Lex Luger and the torture rack always seem pretty lame

My fave finishers...Jake's DDT, Kamala's top rope splash, Savage's elbow, HHH's Pedigree, Stone Cold's Stunner, Bret's Sharpshooter and there was a wrestler in the 80s...help me out.. who would put someone in a full nelson and then drive their face into the mat.

What the hell are they talking about? The Rock used the peoples elbow as a finish many times, more often than Rock bottom.

I liked the regal stretch that looked the way an stf should and the lion tamer with the knee on the ground or in the back was nice stunner of course all the greats had good finishers

One of the worst I've ever seen was the ZigZag. It looks like it hurts the user more than the victim.

The worst main event finisher has to be Tully Blanchard's moronic slingshot suplex. Rock's is probably 2nd. Hogan's third. They just looked lame as hell. Like how in the hell does adding ropes to a suplex make it more devastating? Do a brainbuster. That's one of the few moves left in wrestling that still looks nasty as hell, though that might just be the NJPW guys doing it making it look painful.

I was always underwhelmed by the Perfect Plex. I think that Curt could have been way more "over" than he was if he was given a more interesting or devastating looking finish, because he was a great wrestler who could talk really well and the gimmick in WWF/E was cool.

Hands down, worst finisher is JYD's crawling headbutt. Fight me.

Cena’s 5 Knuckle Shuffle is the worst, dumbest, weakest looking movie I’ve ever seen in 25 years of Raw. The AA is not bad but 5KS is stupidly lame.

The Rock Bottom and People’s elbow is terrible

The worst was Chris Masters' Masterlock. It was a full nelson. That's it. A full nelson. A move virtually every child has had applied to them without getting hurt. A purple nurple would have been more devastating.

My wrestling knowledge all comes from early 80's Mid-South Wrestling, but as a young kid, JYD's Thump, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan's Spear are near and dear to my heart.

The People's Elbow was the second part of the Rock's finish, the first part being the Rock Bottom...its a perfect set-up...drop the guy to his back and then drop the ridiculous yet dynamic elbow on him...what was stupid was when he'd do it the other way around, drop the PE and then pick the guy up to do the RB...

Yes, the TTD was by far the best finisher of it's time and perhaps the most protected ever. No one ever kicked out of Jake's TTD during his era.

Jake The Snake was very underrated. He didn’t have a chiseled body, but boy could he wrestle. Plus he was one of the very best on the mic.
