It would be really interesting to see if AEW Collision turns into an exciting show with real pro rasslers and Tony lets The Bucks and their friends play on Dynamite. This would be a great way to settle the modern play wrestling vs old school wrestling debate once and for all.

It's about Fucking Time they announced CM Punk's return to AEW i bet Dave Meltzer and bryan Alvarez are Pissed by this news since they were spreading lies and fake news about him.

We finally got 2 different shows. AEW Collision for Pro Wrestling technicality and grounded storylines, while Dynamite is for the fun stuff and for fans to indulge in despite of how silly it could be sometimes.

The only reason why I want CM Punk to return is to hear Jim Cornette say *LIKE MUSSOLINI* whenever Punk is on TV.

The problem with having to use Punk as a tweener is that most of the card never commits to being faces or heels either.

I absolutely LOVE Punk's work as a heel, and it would definitely play great with the mixed reactions he's getting. But I feel like there's already too many heels in AEW, and not that many tangible babyfaces. Aside from maybe Darby, Ricky Starks and Adam Cole, I don't see any babyface singles that could pull people in near the same level as Punk. They really dug themselves in a hole.

I think Collision was Punk's idea. I think Punk said he was going to sue if they didn't let him take the serious guys and do his own show. If Punk wasn't in the driver's seat for all of this, that wouldn't give him control over the show after what happened. Punk is a legend.

I started watching AEW before Punk and saw massive potential in the show, im a huge Punk fan and he completely had me hooked on tuning in week in week out and ultimately started enjoying the other stars like MJF, Hobbs, Darby, Miro, Andrade etc hell even Hangman until all this chaos after all out. Since Punk got screwed by the 'evps' the show has literally been held on MJFs back because the rest of the show isnt worth watching. Youd think us fan's would be a little more excited to see Punk come back, personally im a little excited but you know Tony will drop the ball and not book the angles that make the most sense, just like theyve buried their best babyface. I dont understand how all of the 'big stars' dont sell anything in the ring, its glaringly obvious to us fans. The show without people like Punk & MJF is night and day.

Of course, it got very mixed reactions, but had he not had Punk show up in Chicago for Collision things would have been far worse. Of course notice since the announcement, The Elite and JeriKaren have been pretty quiet. I guess they are either scared to do anything else now that he is back or trying to find some way to undermine this. Even more so with the report that Punk and Ace Steel have creative control on the Collision show.

This was a pretty lackluster announcement for what should have been a BIGGER deal. Now I wonder if aew should have kept it a mystery like last time.

I love how Jim mentions Pepto Bismol. He mentioned in the Jim Cornette Experience 316 that his one time attempting to consume Pepto Bismol was down in Mid South. I believe it was Shreveport and the Alamo Motor Lodge was the site of his instant regurgitation and pink spray all over his motel room. I do recall it was Brian's fault for asking about it and it led to Nestle Quik Powdered milk story that had the same outcome. The previous story that led to the mention of Pepto was about Jim being sick before a tag match with Stan Lane against Tim Horner and the principal of the high school they were running. At the beginning of the Smokey Mountain days. Back before Jim figured out that Tim Horner was an imbecile. This was the Experience episode that Jim believed he had COVID and was acting quiet, but it was really a sinus infection, but he did lose a bit of weight. That was also the last time he gotten sick prior to his memorable segment on shitting himself this past Thanksgiving weekend; Drive Thru 271. Now as long as he can beat the damn gout, he should be good. As far Phil Brooks' involvement in the company, I'm not positive that the middle school gymnists that are allegedly the EVPs, are gonna welcome him with open arms. In the best interest of the company, they'll need to understand that despite their best efforts, Punk is and will always be a top drawing talent and they'll always be mid card. The bar is very low in this company and any mark can be in charge and a billed as a top talent. There's about 30 wrestlers and 100 marks in AEW. It's actually less available when you factor in the injured. Company has a huge issue with wrestler safety (actually no real authority over immature wrestlers preventing them from killing themselves doing phony moves) and too much wasted juice. That's to name a few of many of the issues that the outlaw promotion that Turner operates, has. If this company had common sense organization and mature adults in charge, this whole CM Punk fiasco wouldn't have existed. And if an investigation needed to be done, it would have been comprehensive and thorough and everyone involved would have been interviewed. Complete transparency. Mature adults in charge, not money marks having a weekly wet dream for just 800k viewers a week.

A really funny thing happened during this show. During an early break on Fite TV, you get a splash screen with some theme music playing. They accidentally played a few seconds of Tony's announcement. Out of nowhere it was "Thanks guys." And another few words of it too. Best part of it? Once the break ended they had either another match or in ring segment BEFORE they went and played the announcement lol

Frankly the mixed reactions are a sign of hope. Shows there's plenty in the AEW audience who aren't the low IQ followers who look at a guy who said he'd fire 80% of the roster and go "no the other guy is the cancer"
