I think because people like Ricochet despite his lack of character and is on the younger side, Vince may get more mileage out of him in trying to build a character and if he can't do that, his selling makes him the definitive jobber. Plus he is not injury prone despite his style and size

It's unbelievable that we are talking about the same company that gave us the attitude era and the wrestlers it produced. WWE is now like late 90's WCW. They have/have had a tonne of talent and absolutely no idea how to use them.

I notice a large chunk of these releases are people Triple H had a hand in bringing up and getting over, a message is being sent here. Also, Nia Jax was a long time coming, and was the only release ever that I've genuinely been happy about.

For a company like AEW that's all friendly and nothing bad happens just goes to show it doesn't matter if its WWE or AEW mental health would catch up on anybody. I'd assume Moxley looked at Roman and Seth and seen how great they are doing in their carrer they are pretty much on top of the company and a possibility of Seth winning a championship while Roman has his probably made Mox a little depressed. I mean he has done nothing that's even storyline wise. I'd imagine the CM Punk signing had him sitting in the back of the line. It's a young man sport and well.....Moxley looks burnt out.

I believe I also heard Nia was taking time off for a mental break and she was supposed to come back on like Nov. 15, but she requested more time off to have a mental break. AEW needed Big guys and WWE got rid of Braun, Bronson, Bray, Kross and Keith. Ive never seen a war where one side just gives the enemy their Bombs, Vince is nuts.
Well this isn't really a "war", but you could say vince not paying nash, hall, etc enough to stay was more or less giving them to WCW, and WCW more or less gave Vince the radicalz. And vince more or less gave Bret to wcw.
The war is a myth......WWE could care less. When WWE won the Monday night war, Vince made a major decision......to go from a wrestling company who relied on ratings, to a global business that no longer needed ratings to survive. TV ratings now counts as just 10 to 15% of the overall....damn near meaningless until the contract is up which wont be for another 4 years with fox and nbc.
@@tmccane ratings matter bc that's why WWE got massive TV deals. Those TV deals are what makes them so much money. If the ratings are low, they wont get as big of a TV deals next time.

Networks jump into solo are making ratings nearly obsolete....even Neilsens admits, not even a third of the country has cable anymore, people consume tv differently now and they dont have the ability to keep up

Keith Lee was the next big thing, I remember when he entered the 2020 royal rumble and confronted Brock Lesnar and the crowd went crazy for it. If you can't believe 60k+ chanting and cheering on a talent that's making an entrance to the ring as proof that person is something special, a fan favorite, a star in the making. Then that person is in denial and should not run a wrestling/entertainment business.

I wouldn't even think that. If I were HHH, with the money I have accumulated and the contacts that I've obtained over the years, I'd go out and buy a company like Evolve, Beyond or even Ring of Honor. Start it fresh on a network that people know about, and that everyone has access to like an NBC, or a CBS, and pick 35 singles wrestlers 20 men, 15 women and a collection of 10 tag teams and work with that. They don't need to compete, but build themselves up slowly, and actually feature talent properly, the way WWF used to back in the 90s. And I hate to use an adage that Vince Russo came up with, but if you don't have a purpose of being on the program either I'll give you one or let you work elsewhere. They don't need the bloated roster that AEW has or the questionable call-ups that WWE has. Sure now and then you get a guest wrestler to come in for a couple months to wrestle some of your talent, but they are there as a temporary talent, not a permanent one, and can be called such.

Christ even Hulk Hogan and Flair belonged to the AWA before appearing on WWF television. It's people like yourself that don't realize that WWF has been indie wrestlers from the start. Of course back in the 90s they focused on being bigger in size, but what did that do for them? Can you actually name a wrestler outside of Bam Bam Bigelow who appeared for the 90-95 showcase that was an actually decent wrestler within that promotion? Even Hogan was better outside of WWF, and a lot of people don't seem to realize that. His stuff in New Japan showed that he knew how to wrestle a much broader style, but his hands were bound within the WWF/WCW environment as it was more marketable.

I hope they at least get to leave some of the released superstars in the game like Keith Lee and Karrion Kross so that way we get to have somewhat of a decent roster. Also the developer's hard work won't have been for nothing.
They better fill it with some extra Legends because that game is going to be bare bones. Half the roster from 2k20 is gone. A lot of these new people I don’t know who the fuck they are because I haven’t been watching WWE since just before the pandemic started. A lot of the models will be janky as fuck because new entrants always look bad. I’m kind of expecting there to be a severe lack of people in each championship division. I could always get at least 10 modern wrestlers in each division on each show in Universe Mode. That’s not happening in 2k22.

I think the booking in WWE is a total mess, and it's mystifying how he made such a mess with Keith Lee in particular, but I don't think releasing or signing talent is the major issue that it's made out to be.
@@JMFabiano I don't read it that way - I feel like Keith Lee was a victim of the way they try to micromanage everything right down to the promos. That's the really bizarre thing about the way WWE uses writers, they should be a resource for the wrestlers to workshop/finesse promos with, rather than the writers trying to set what the wrestlers say in stone. I'm not sure how much help the writers could be, but it's clear that them being given creative control just doesn't work, especially with Keith Lee with his unusual mix of presence and diction. How should you book him? An arrogant heel who thinks he knows better than everyone and dominates opponents in a patronising way? A gentle giant babyface who occasionally snaps? It's not a particularly easy one, as you need to have more than good matches, you need a reason for someone to invest in their results and his promos get him there in some way

For me, Metalik will go back as Máscara Dorada in Mexico. I can see Smith going in Japan, he wanted to participate at the AJPW Champion Carnival, plus he loves Shoot Wrestling and GLEAT has opened with a "UWF" Division, I can see him try a run there.
I can also see Smith having some role in AEWs Owen Hart Memorial Tournament coming up. My guess is they'll have several Hart family representatives involved, so I'd expect to see him, Teddy, and maybe even The Hitman.
I'd like to know how Metalik would be doing right now if his English was as good as Reys. Because in ring wise he was an easy 10 as far as a luchador you could use to have that Latin pull. People seem to forget that Impact and Pro Wrestling Noah are still a thing. There is also the NWA, MLW and the countless independent wrestling promotions scattered around the country. I love the “oh AEW and NJPW will pick them up”. Aye, the recognised stars will get be chased and courted. Harry Smith will always be welcome in Britain.

It's not the main point of the video. but I do love Jim's idea for the NXT program slot... The Challenge cup could be good, but I almost feel like it would work better if it was a team of 6 with 3 raw and 3 smackdown roster members, vs 6 NXT greenhorns... that way the NXT guys get ring time with seasoned vets of the WWE system and mid carders for WWE get more exposure on another program...

Pretty much. The African American community is the one with the largest unvaccination rate yet Jim still acts like "its all the right wing lunatics". For me personally, I've said from the start it should be up to the individual if they want to get the jab or not. The government should not be able to tell you to get a medical procedure if you don't want to. That's like Nazi Germany levels of authoritarianism. Plus, the vaccine doesn't stop the spread. From what I've seen and read, the unvaccinated is pretty evenly split among political lines. There's slightly more Republican unvaxxed but there's also slightly more Republicans in general. There's all kinds of people choosing not to get the shot and they all have their reasons, ridiculous and reasonable. I personally got my shot but someone else choosing not to is their business. Point is not everything needs to be a cheap political hit.

Who's part of what party can be difficult to quantify because it's constantly shifting depending which way the wind blow. The registerred hardcore members of either party is evenly split so it's decided by which way the moderates and independents are leaning at any particular time.

I remember a Karion Kross promo on NXT where he talked about headlining Wrestlemania someday. The next week he was losing to Hardy on RAW. I think Kross pissed off somebody by speaking out of turn.
I can understand vaccine hesitancy, up to a point. But I do feel that pro wrestling, a job that exposes you to tons of people and requires constant travel, is the worst sort to have during a pandemic, vaccinated or not. Knowing that, I would think if you refuse to get vaccinated, you should actively be trying to get released, if for no other reason than to avoid the embarrassment of eventually being fired. Vince is old, Roman is their top guy, Becky is one of their top girls, and in different ways each one can't afford to be around many unvaccinated people. If you want to stay unvaccinated in WWE, you severely restrict who you can work with (and you definitely can't complain about no title shots), so you may as well quit, because you're likely to get fired eventually. So yes, it sucks to lose your job for that reason, but on the flip side, if you can actually get a job in a promotion that doesn't care about vaccination status, that might not be the great thing that you think it is. There was a time when I thought it might be funny if Nia Jax signed with WOW. But it's really not funny anymore.

Some of these releases are understandable but releasing Ember Moon, Franky Monet and keeping Sonya Deville makes just as much sense as releasing Kross and Lee. But despite all of the fumbles and mishap the fans still flock to WWE

Some of these guys were Tailor made ready for the main roster …..HHH and co had given these guys gimmicks that worked and got over and in every case it was changed and it failed like we didn’t just see these people the week before doing something different and shockingly nobody gave a fuck …….so they changed every thing and everything fails and it’s the talents problem ? Don't like putting this here, but since I had both of my Covid shots my immune system has been terrible. I'm picking up colds, coughs and bugs left and right and just generally feel shitty 70% of the time. And here in the UK we're being told your covid vaccinations don't stop you catching or spreading Covid. So now I feel like what the F did I have it for in the first place

@TheBestFighter I made the decision to get the jabs because my wife's grandmother was battling cancer at the time and my wife was her main care provider. At the time the vaccines were being touted as the protection everybody needed, I said from the get go that it was just a severe flu and that we needed to live with it right off the bat. But with a cancer patient with an already compromised immune system I thought I was doing the right thing. In hindsight would I have the vaccines again if I had a do over? HELL NO! Just the same as I won't be having any booster Shots
