Flair was in excellent condition his entire career. But, aside from that, I never went OOH, or AAH over any of his actual wrestling. He owned the mic in a way never seen, or imagined before. He used it in ways people had never thought before. That is far and away what made him the best. Because just about anyone who wasn't into wrestling could listen to for 3 minutes and want to see him get his ass kicked. I understand not every wrestler is gonna be remotely like that. But, you've got to at least rip something off from a few other guys, or ask for some help before you just go out and drop a deuce in the middle of the ring on tv.

When Punk says "disrespect," that's what he's referring to.

The problem with AEW has never been the promos. It’s the fucking booking. And much of the in-ring product. And their play by play guy directing his work to the smarks they have instead of the casual fans they need… which essentially illustrates the rest of their problems. But when you have an owner that lets one of their champions make a mockery of the business with performance garbage erotica in barns, AEW’s problems are far greater than something that very good promos rooted in reality can help.

I think there's a different from "off script" to going into business for themselves, I like Adam page but that segment before the PPV was super weird and punk looked visibly confused. Sure, let the guys do their own promos so we can see their actual character and charisma but you can't just change topic midway through, there has to be SOME form of structure or 1 stray line could ruin a full program which page nearly did

Anyone can bring up real life drama, but if you can turn that into a story in the ring while shooting, then that is what makes a legendary promo. Heat started in the ring between the two, possibly has been continuing backstage the past two months, and in a handful of lines punk just brought it back around and elevated their feud in the process to where there’s probably more people wanting to see this now than another mjf/punk match. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was punks way of going “you got me on tv, I waited and got you back. Now let’s milk this for a storyline.” Have been noticing for a while now they’re leading more and more to ex wwe guys slowly feuding with aew originals. Would be interesting if aew used all the real life heat with contracts and new guys to build their own version of the invasion storyline from the wwf

A dude who has trained for a couple years regularly under Duke Roufus with UFC champions will absolutely beat up the vast majority of dudes out there. Trust me. Mike Jackson, who beat Punk, is an undefeated pro boxer and couldn’t KO Punk. In the least we know Punk is tough as shit and has heart, as well as technical knowledge from training with the best fighters in the world. What do we know about Page? How well does he take a punch? Does he know how to use guard if he ends up on bottom? Is he gonna do a flippy clothesline? You either know how to fight.. or you don’t. Punk knows how to fight and can take an ass whooping. Is he UFC calibur? Fuck no. Only Brock Lesnar could enter the UFC and win with no mma experience. But he’s a freak of fucking nature.

Dudes who fight at 170 have cut serious weight dude. They generally walk around at 190+. Khabib fought at 155 but walks around at close to 200 lbs. You think Page walks around at 270 lbs? That’s Lesnar weight. 😆 Page has maybe 15 lbs on Punk, if that.

Having said that, Page is clearly a very strong athletic dude. Punk isn’t. But Punk is legitimately a tough dude with heart who has a couple of years of training with one of the best fight camps in the world. It would actually be an interesting fight.

Nothing Punk did is remotely professional, and I would trust him LESS in the ring than Hangman, who hasn't injured anyone, puts on great matches, is considered a generally likable and nice guy backstage, and -- even when Hangman did have issues -- didn't bury anyone publicly about it (and really, compare Hangman's comments to Punk's comments -- Punk just buried the guy who wasn't even there and made one of their top babyfaces look like crap).

Agreed. Punk should've addressed this to Page man to man back in May, and not on TV if no program will follow. If Punk cares about the business and the younger guys in it, he could've been more professional himself. Page did his offscript rant face to face whereas Punks was done in a way that buried Page without the opportunity to respond. Who's the coward here? Punk hasn't done himself any favours here considering his past.
