@@leemoore8446 I know a lot of Cornette listeners scoff at hearing the words “New Japan”, but Jay’s promos over there were pretty damn good. I do agree though that they should have ditched the Bullet Club thing and either went on their own or started a new faction once they joined AEW. As a wrestling fan I’m hoping this new show with Punk/FTR/Joe/Jay/Juice and other actual talented wrestlers who want to work a wrestling show gives them room to breathe. And they can keep the gymnastics on Wednesday.
He's nothing special though. He uses like 15 wrestlers finishers as his normal move set, has nothing of a commanding voice. Sounds weak, looks weak, IS weak, just fortunately for him the majority of his opponents are the size of middle schoolers.
Big Bill as the AEW equivalent of Bad Luck Fale? I'm sold on that! Jay would be like Devitt(Jay did mention he had spoken to Devitt/Balor before so there's that) Juice would be like Karl Anderson but a bit more over the top. Who would be able to be like Tama Tonga though?
The problem is, most Americans don’t know who Jay White or The Bullet Club is. AEW need to do a better job of introducing these guys properly so the audience can get invested in them so they’re not like who the hell is this guy and why should I care about him?
@@johnadams9274 my issue is Punk vs Jay SOUNDS good, but...who wins that fued? Jay just got there a week and a half ago, and Punk is just returning after Brawl Out, so don't they both need signature wins?
@@villiannewyork I like it. I hope to see possibly a future PPV match with this…..maybe Full Gear 2023. Fingers crossed that Collision will give us wrestling fans (not the modern garbage) a reason to watch Saturday nights
😂😂😂 it's funny how AEW marks forget CM Punk age like wtf he's not gonna move the same somebody tell him and the Hardy Boyz to retire they have destroyed their own legacy
Well he liked British bulldog haha, but I'm from the UK and both of these jobbers definitely don't have an English accent, ones from America and the other is from new Zealand, they're still both mediocre and bland.
That's the one thing that gets me about his critique. Everything else is fair but when he's sitting there calling him a "UK guy" I can't help but roll my eyes a bit. It's like assuming a Minnesotian is from Canada for some reason.
AEW is not the place to go if you want things explained.... you have to already know.. if don't even think about asking because if you ask the AEW marks will just call you a "hater" rather than answer you.
Reminded me of that time TK announced some Vikingo guy and all we got was crickets from the audience. Then when he appeared, I was like, Lol, it's just a small Mexican manlet barely 5 foot cosplaying as a Viking.
@@TheMrAlgoh and if you went online and asked "who?" you would be called a hater by a whole bunch of people who also have no idea who the guy is but insist that its a "dream match" 🤣 Internet marks don't care about watching wrestling, they care about saying things that other internet marks will think is the cool thing to say.
With FTR & Ricky Starks seemingly forming an alliance against Bullet Club Gold, it makes me think we’ll soon see a new 3rd member to Bullet Club Gold. El Phantasmo? Tama Tonga?
would say bring in someone to do the bodyguard gimmick to stand there and do nothing 🫤 but look intimidating. or do typical TK booking and hire Kevin Nash 😂 cause we all know tony loves the legends
El Phantasmo is feuding with Finlay's BC so I guess he won't show up in AEW. Edit: After thinking about it. I still think they will do some NJPW BC vs AEW BC Gold at Forbidden Door. Finlay did a promo on BC Gold a few weeks ago and wasn't pleased about it. So with Finlay maybe showing up at FD El Phantasmo could show up too and join BC Gold.
Bullet Club Gold is like the NWO Wolf Pac, because Jay White was kicked out and started Bullet Club Gold in AEW. Kinda like how Nash and Macho Man left NWO Black and White and did their own thing. It could do well if done right.
As a fan of Jay White, this is gonna be one of those instances that while I respect Jim's opinion, I have to disagree about him. Maybe once he gets a PPV match or that program Punk wants Jim's mind will change, but I won't hinge my opinion of Jay on Cornette's. If he doesn't get him, he doesn't get him.
Quite Ironically, WWE has explained the Bullet Club way better than AEW because Michael Cole brought them up every time AJ or Finn Balor faced each other or when Anderson and Gallows did something.
Juice and Jay White are both great performers. AEW has, as is typically, not featured their best aspects. Jay White is phenomenal in the ring, especially in drawn out fueds were he can work a lot of drama. Juice is a wild man and over the top personality. But we haven't seen either showcase their best side in AEW because AEW booking is (again) messy at best.
Juice Robinson has the same energy Brian Pillman used to have in his promos. (Kinda hilarious considering Tony Khan has Brian's son under contract and doesn't use him.) I actually like him. As for Jay, haven't seen anything impressive yet.
Wait I just thought of something...could they make Miro a character named "Vodka" and give him a partner "Tonic", like maybe Andrade? Then Gin and Juice could feud with Vodka and Tonic on Collision. LICENSE TO PRINT MONEY
I would be interested in juice and white vs FTR. That could be good but it’s looking like it’s going to turn into a 6 man tag with starks and FTR vs white and juice with another bullet club guy come in. I’ll give it a chance but I’d rather see a regular tag match.
Curious who the 3rd guy will be. I thought it was going to be ELP since he & Jay were a decent tag team, but it looks like he's gone full babyface with a new theme song & all. Can't imagine FinnJuice reuniting with Jay there, so that's out too.
@@superrobot5384 not sure but I wish they would just leave it alone and do a regular tag match but they always gotta do something for the marks in Aew with some trios nonsense
What I don’t get, is that David Finley, the current leader of the BC in Japan attacked Jay white on his last appearance. So why is Jay white still representing the bullet club.
To answer Jim’s question, no, they haven’t ONCE explained the difference between Bullet Club regular and Bullet Club Gold on any AEW TV I’ve seen. But if you say anything like that to those fans, their responses are always to “just google it”. I don’t want to be spoon fed every detail when I watch wrestling but I don’t want to have to be on Wikipedia for a half hour to understand why two guys were mad at each other in Japan 8 years ago
I like when the heels bully the announcers within reason I mean don't bloody them but pull their tie, push them around so when the face comes down you want them to kick their ass
I think the thumbnail kinda tells something. We all know the parody aspect of BC and NWO, and if I remember my WcW and I do Schiavone was always being teased and goofed by Hall and Nash and look i'm no Tony Khan hater but I do agree he goes to the well a bit much recalling WcW and TNA stuff. So is "Gold" AeW's version of NWO...basically, especially if they bring a legend as their third lol that's unlikely but recruitment jokes...do we see Gold add members, it's possible but hopefully it's just done right.
"Jay White looks and sounds like every other guy from the UK that they've brought up into NXT" You do realise that outside of America there are other countries/nations beside the UK? He's from the other side of the world from the UK. And imo you complain about the booking in AEW a lot so should it surprise you that they got a person who could be a superstar in any of the promotions but haven't booked him well? I personally think there are very easily writable stories for feuds with other ex=Bullet Club leaders such as Omega or Adam Cole. However I'd love to see Jay White in the title picture against MJF.
Drives me mad how they introduce these factions and give no back story. There are so many thrown together groups and they expect you to treat them as a big deal. I don’t watch NJPW, I know bullet club but why don’t they explain what BC Gold is!?
BC Gold doesn't really have any story at the moment. Jay White was the leader of Bullet Club for some years now. In January White lost the IWGP World Heavyweight belt to Okada. White blamed Hikuleo for his loss. Hikuleo was a BC member and attacked White last year and left BC then. So this lead to a match between Hikuleo and White with the stipulation of the loser having to leave Japan. White lost toHikuleo, left Japan (not NJPW) and went to NJPW Strong, the US division of NJPW and which White help building up. White had a rivalry with Eddie Kingston going on, who also shows up at NJPW Strong shows here and there. This rivalvry led to a match between White and Kingston at Battle in the Valley PPV in February. The match got a stipulation: if Eddie loses he would have to ask White if he wants to wrestle for NJPW. If White loses he had to leave NJPW completely. White lost to Kingston, left NJPW, took a break for some weeks and then joined AEW. Juice Robinson officially never left Bullet Club NJPW. After the White vs Kingston match Jay White got attacked by David Finlay who is now leader of Bullet Club NJPW. After another NJPW event Finlay did a promo about Bullet Club Gold and disavowed it. So Bullet Club Gold is at the moment just White and Robinson and not acknowledged by the true BC in NJPW.
@@gm2998 Yeah, I still think they will do some BC Gold vs BC NJPW stuff at FD. The only issue I see is: which outcome? If Team Finlay wins why should he allow BC Gold to exist? Why should he acknowledge them? If Team White wins how would that not underminde Finlay's leadership of BC NJPW? I would like to see a White vs Finlay match though. And ELP could easily show up to fork with Finlay and probably cost him the match.
@@Bjaerke You're right. Tbh, I'm still not invested in "Rebel Era", Finlay is a forced leader to me. So, maybe this matchup isn't the best thing right now but I'd love it!
I like Juice Robinson and I’m giving Jay a chance but the fact that Bullet Club Gold is a thing is extremely weird because the Elite were the ELITE of Bullet Club, what is gold the gold memebers of the bullet club??? bullet club itself is played out and it all feels done before
I liked this segment a lot. I want to see more of the two guys and less of trampoline cowboys. Is calling the group "Bullet Club Gold" a way for them to sell shirts? They obviously couldn't call it the Bullet Club and sell it. And they don't talk about it on this show, but Tony assumes you're watching WWE and know it's just The OC's South charter.
