Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
Him trying to be stone cold is not appealing much like Kobe trying to mock MJ much of his career he need to capture today’s audience Steve Austin was not a garage wrestler he was one of thee best skilled performers until Owen broke his neck
@@jonathanturbide2232 amazing how quickly people forgot that Moxley did that for most of his WWE career. But tbh, I thought it was also understood that Mox could talk and that's why WWE signed him, even before The Shield was an idea.
But everyone loves Moxley that’s a wrestling fan. I can’t understand how much people get off on crapping on something they don’t like. I used to an NBA fan until they decided defense doesn’t matter. I just quit watching, I dont watch the NBAistill and talk crap about it. What an awesome life most of you have.
Apparently there was a double DQ last year in a Dark match where the D&D guy and the librarian guy hit each other in the head at the same time with a giant die and a book....I can't say all that with a straight face.
@@brutaljustin1349 That was a follow up to a Brandon Cutler vs. Peter Avalon match which ended in a double count-out. The idea was that they'd been working together to try to get a win but split over Peter's willingness to cheat to do so. The match which ended in a double DQ resulted in a match with no DQs or count-outs where there was one spot where Brandon emptied a load of assorted tabletop RPG dice onto the mat before slamming Peter onto them, which suggests the rest of the match was stupid too.
Somehow the Texas Death Match they had in Japan was way more akin to its name than this match was. No matter what Jim’s opinion on Japanese wrestling is, just because they don’t speak english or whatever, at least they are more faithful to classic wrestling traditions than any other promotion is right now.
Corny has a point though, they bitch & moan & blame Corny for that idiot fan jump over the guard rail, yet the FOLLOWING WEEK OR 2 LATER, THEY USE A PLANT DURING A MATCH. I'm sorry that's inexcusable for "booker of the year" to be booking this kind of illogical shit that could 1 day either get him sued by somebody OR get kicked off the air for this stupid shit.
@@TheSportsfan35 I wasn't a plant, I'm still mad they didn't replace my hotdog they made me drop as he threw me. How would you feel if a huge guy picked you up and made you lose your hotdog. My shirt was ruined with a mustard stain, it was horrible.
How did JC not mention that the camera was on Archer on the floor and showed him pull the blade out of his wrist tape before the camera quick peeled off of him. Next minute Archer had color. It was so awful.
That blade job was absolutely f*cking hideous. I always remember watching a shoot interview with someone (can't remember who) that talked about HHH having the art of blading down to a T. He could pull the blade from his wrist tape and cut himself the same instant he gets hit and you'd never know. Then you have psychos like Lesnar who'll just purposely headbutt the ring post lol
@@Longdogsilva he can fight that’s a different thing. He isn’t tough at all. Overeem totally took his manhood away from him. If you cower from pinches and turn your back your not a tough guy.
And he cowered and turtles up against Carwin as well. Very shameful for a real fighter. He’s a real coward. I know it’s hard to understand if you don’t know about real fighting but benign able to beat most people up and being tough are not the same thing. Brock Lesnar is not a ‘psycho’ who would cut his head by banging it against something😂😂 if he’s tough what’s alasdair overeem?😂
If you don't establish the rules, then breaking them or straying from them means nothing. I hate this in every show. they do nothing but the exceptions to the rule.
His AEW debut was a really cool moment. Probably the coolest live moment they've had to date still to be honest. Yeah I agree though he's been f*cking awful post-wwe.
@gian carlo, I agree with you & I'm just annoyed with "booker of the year" $ mark Khan booking Gage. If Gage does something stupid to get the company in trouble with the Turner people or WORSE KICKED OFF THE AIR, I won't feel sorry for him, in fact I'll laugh my ass off at him for not taking the business more seriously & instead continuing to play promoter & booker at the expense of the talent & their careers.
There's nothing wrong with people who carry weight, there is something wrong with people who spend their entire life as a crackhead to the point of sounding like bag of cats drowning in the river. I believe Cornette took issue with the fact that his wife is out of the public eye. Crackhead Bessie however has put herself out there and that makes her fair game for a roasting 🤣
10:09 "And by the way, this is literally a board with rolls of barbed wire stapled to it. It has no legitimate usage in the real world for anything..." It's obviously to stop Nick Gage stealing the food from your table, Jim.
I liked Moxley’s original NJPW run, my main issue with him is that he didn’t vacate the US title during quarantine, the belt is relatively new and a lack of defenses can damage a title, when a title is debuted it should be getting defended somewhat often
@@clawy99 NJPW is regularly doing shows. They have NJPW Strong in America, have multiple shows a week, and have been having shows in large arenas. They literally just did one. Do those not count? Mox should have vacated the belt, plain and simple.
I thought it was good, but not a Texas Death Match as traditionally stipulated Texas Death Matches went. Maybe they just wanted to call it that since they were in Texas.
Both wrestlers were less than subtle about getting their colour - Lance Archer immediately reached for his blade on his wrist when he took the DDT on the floor - it was so obvious what he was doing that I knew he would be bleeding before he got back up!
When Mox DDT'd Archer on the concrete, Archer's forehead didn't even come close to hitting the concrete. You can then see him immediately reach for the razor gimmick on his wrist to cut himself. Sloppy, sloppy sloppy. Then 5 mins later you see Mox reach for the gimmick and get colour too....I give up.
Jon has really became my least fav member of the shield look Seth and Roman are doing amazing in the wwe and jon only does death matches if I'm being honest are not that good.
@Toby Montana Bruh. Are u going to act like the other 2 are any different? Lmfao 🤣 cmon man. Make ur own opinion. This is a good podcast but they aren’t always right. Those 3 are all the same
Moxley needs to do this because he knows that he'll always be Dean Ambrose. Anything that distances himself from Ambrose in order for Moxley to establish himself with his own name. It's hard to do that given the success of the Shield.
Well, bad wrestling is certainly a way to do that. Pathetic looking striking, disrespectfully obvious blading and otherwise crappy indy spots are good ways to look like less of a star than Roman Reigns, and to a lesser extent, Seth Rollins. He was so good in the early days of the Shield; now he just looks sloppy.
Guys like Tanahashi vs Shingo or Kyle O’ Reilly vs Adam Cole have incredible hard hitting credible looking matches and garbage like this gets put on national TV and gets all the attention. It’s embarrassing to the wrestling industry.
Jim isn't gonna watch much outside of what he's paid to do which is criticize. NXT they said they were never gonna review again unless there's something worth watching.
I had to laugh when the match winning ten count was a hell of a lot quicker than the ref a couple of weeks ago doing a 10 count for mjf/sammy guevara’s main event after sammy did the dive into the crowd
So they had a Fan (probably a plant) being thrown as a weapon and Moxley blades right in front of the Camera. I know why AEW has multiple Botch Videos and WWE doesn't because the people in WWE are PROS.
@@VoodooGhouls No such thing. All these rules are made up. A promotion can alter or make up whatever they want. It's just entertainment. No governing body of fake wrestling rules is gonna intervene over a Texas Death Match or Last Man Standing match.
Yeah. Ok. Cool. I don’t doubt you are correct about that. But seriously... why TF do I constantly have to do research online to understand what is going on in AEW? Isn’t Dynamite their flagship show? Why can’t they explain what I need to know on the F’ing show?!! Why is it expected that people will go elsewhere to find answers instead of just switching off the TV? Makes no sense.
@@Exiled_Rouge The fact that pro-wrestling matches are pre-determined doesn't exclude the fact that logic still needs to be involved. If a match is promoted as a Texas Deathmatch, then it should logically be performed under actual deathmatch rules and not Last Man Standing rules.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 That doesn't preclude logic. There is no "actual"- that is a fllacy. The rules are entirely and always have been made up. There is nothing to stop a promotion from altering rules that were given elsewhere or making their own. "Actual" doesn't exist. There is no objective standard in entertainment.
The thing is, Jim, Moxley did this garbage wrestling shit before he got the big time job and was hired by the reputable organization. He's upset that WWE didn't allow him to do it....the closest was his Mania match against Brock (what a shit show that was and it wasn't Brock's fault)
I remember in IWA Puerto Rico, where he lost the hardcore title belt to Amazona. To be fair she's like an imperial 5'11 or 6 even, and it was mainly to establish her as the star of their soon to be created women's division, but that's what Moxley Mox was. A tag team wrestler who occasionally did garbage matches to put someone over, including the future women's champion. I remember he needed outside interference to beat Tiny Tim, and got stabbed in the balls by Jimmy Jacobs, and didn't get all the hype about him signing with WWE.
@@Hizzoner21 seriously lol any time i see some one get color i go back and see when they do it just to confirm when they did it and that i saw it, only time i couldn't is when the camera panned away.
@@Hizzoner21 It's way more obvious in AEW. WWE cameras accidentally pick it up and then immediately cut to a different angle, but AEW will literally keep the camera focused on the blading.😄
@@polsdofer 100% lol I've typically done the same thing. Do I think AEW is a bit careless at times with their camera work? Yes. But usually, I've caught wrestlers from every company you can think of. Shawn Michaels vs HHH (I believe it was HHH) always comes to mind when he was positioned into the turnbuckle post and oversold it by flying OVER the turnbuckle and into the post. The oversell came after bouncing off of the post and floating in the air where he bladed himself on camera before falling to the mat. WWF didn't attempt to hide it once. I've seen Earl Hebner hand a blade directly to the Rock on camera on the outside of the ring. WCW forgot to turn away from Flair after Macho man hit with a megaphone at Starrcade 95; the camera zoomed out a bit but you could easily catch Flair turning onto his stomach and blading. The rule of thumb should always be to turn away from the guy blading.
You know what's funny? A lady in the UK is pissed wwe makes a break away ambulance for their toy line, but aew has fake ass death matches and not one person is like what the hell? Except us here in the cult of cornette lol
Every other Moxley match involves some kind of extreme, barbed wire match of some kind. His promos are great but his matches are always average imo, which is probably why he involves weapons in virtually every one of his matches, to hide the fact he cant have good wrestling matches with rules unless it involves Seth Rollins.
The camera showed Archer reaching into his armband for the razor.. then later it showed him on his stomach doing it with his hand. he needs to hide a bit better..
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Karrion Kross, undefeated NXT champion, lost in 2 minutes against Jeff Hardy during his Raw debut. And Jim didn't say shit. Smh.
@@polojuice2432 What I'm saying is that Santino did choose to be there because he was a member of the roster before being challenged by Umaga. Plants are paid performers that agree to take a bump as a fan to enhance the experience for everyone else.
Tony needs to stop listening to Mox, he's really making AEW look terrible. Mox is going backwards in life, you work to get away from these type of matches. The guy was the WWE champion, and he's back doing backyard wrestling stunts, sad to see.
@@eastwaters4082 YES,because it's getting annoying as well as ILLOGICAL to keep booking gimmick matches every week for the sake of doing gimmick matches.

I can't believe Moxley actually pulled out a blade out in the open and literally just have himself color. Without any regard to being discrete or respectful to the reputation of the business ... oh right, it's AEW 😩.
I disagree with Jim on Archer getting over - I don't think he can. This guy worked in both TNA and wwe, was a flop in both and no one was missing him while he worked over in Japan. Now you see him doing this stuff with Moxley and it makes sense as he's an idiot. Teaming with Jake isn't going to help when Archer isn't smart enough to know how to build himself up.
Exactly, you guys all get it. If he had any talent, he would have been a big deal in either wwe or TNA - someone would have pushed him. But he wasn't because he isn't that good. Look at Big Cass - he was a bit of a joke act in wwe but Impact is pushing him and it works because he has something but Archer never had that and his murderhawk gimmick is just silly.
They should get 30 guys. Every 60 seconds one comes out in Jimmy Cuckette's bedroom and they all line up to f his wife. You just hope to be number one and not the last one. Just like a Rumble...book it!! And then let Cuckette do a podcast and tell everybody how bad it was.
If Renee Young had any sense she'd give Moxley an ultimatum, "No more of this garbage, or you're divorced." Seeing people bloody themselves is not entertainment unless you're a sick puppy.
Hey Corny, ever seen one of those Nailboard Death Matches? No real-life application for those either. I think I'd prefer the Barbed Wire Board. Those Nailboards look really scary. No idea why anyone would agree to get thrown into one of those.
TNA used those barbwire boards and so many publications acted like they were tables. One of those boards contributed to Daffney Unger's premature retirement, because she didn't want to go through one but was talked into it by a certain writer. There were wrestlers who actually competed in garbage matches talking about how sad it was. As early as last year she was on instagram expressing how much she misses the ring. So that's one thing AEW has over TNA I guess. It only puts wrestlers through them that want to.
